Cellular Respiration Lab

1. As activity level increased, so did pulse rate. Yes, this was consistent for all group members.

Cellular respiration increases heart rate because cells are working harder to deliver oxygen from

your heart to your cells.

2. As activity level increased, so did breathing rate. In cellular respiration, when your activity

level increases, your body tries to intake more oxygen for cellular respiration to continue as

normal, which is why your breathing rate increases. Cellular Respiration and breathing are

closely related.

3. When activity level increased, it took less time to turn the BTB yellow. Therefore, CO2

production increased as well. When activity level increases you start breathing hard. Cellular

Respiration lets us take in more oxygen and breathe out more carbon dioxide. CO2 diffuses from

your cells to your blood, and travels to your lungs where are exiled.

4. If you sprinted as fast as you could for as long as you could, pulse, breathing rate, and CO2

production would increase. Depending on who you are would determine if you were able to
intake enough oxygen. A person who trains to run would increase their pulse, breathing rate, and

CO2 production as normal. However, if you could not take in enough oxygen, your muscle cells

would undergo Lactic Acid Fermentation.
