Information about the class:

Class/Age: a VIII-a A, 13-14 years old

Level: A2

School status: non examination class, English- 2nd language

Learner profile: They are generally active but get distracted very easily. They are highly
motivated by immediate rewards (a good grade / extra points) or pair / group working. The
majority have a linguistic intelligence, being able to understand the meaning of words and use
them in various contexts.

Time: 20 min

Information about the lesson:

Title: Passive Voice-form and usage

Topic: Grammar

Type of lesson: Teaching something new

Aims: 1. To improve the student's ability to communicate effectively in formal written


English using passive voice

2. To develop an understanding and appreciation of the forms of the passive voice


3. To create opportunities for students to engage in creative self-expression
4. To develop a knowledge and understanding of passive voice uses.
Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss should be able to:

1. Know the form of passive voice construction

2. Convert a sentence from active voice to passive voice and vice versa

3. Write sentences in the passive voice in Present Simple and Past Simple tenses

4. Explain the use of the correct voice in the appropriate situations, taking into account
usage, effect and intention

The next exercise is also done in T-S 5 -handout
class, with the help of the T.
Semi- Games are the best way to implicate T-S 10 -cards
controlled Ss in activities. The T divides the -if there is not
practice class into groups of 4/5 Ss. Each enough time for
group will receive 7 cards with the Ss to finish
pictures. Each card contains words to their sentences,
describe the picture shown in it. The the group with
Ss will have to form sentences in the the most correct
passive voice using those words. The sentences
first group to finish will be exempted writen will win.
