Advantages of Electrochemical Treatment over Biological Treatment: In
comparison to biological treatment Electrolysis has less moving parts and less unit process.
There is no need to maintain MLSS and pH. It is temperature independent and starts and
stop operation at will. It is toxicity tolerant and there is no need to revive bacteria.
Electrolysis generates less GHG (green house gas) and does not deplete oxygen from
atmosphere & water bodies. It does not cause stream/pond eutrofication and has an odor
free and noiseless operation.

from showers, laundry, galleys and kitchen rooms, Sewage, Oily-Water, and
many other Wastewaters contaminated with Pathogens, Organic and Inorganic
material, Dissolved or Suspended-Solids (DS/SS).
Central & State Pollution Control Boards & regulatory bodies such as Municipal
Corporations are also becoming more stringent especially for habitats located near
body of Water where contaminants such as Oil, Fecal-coliforms, Biological
Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chlorine as Well as nutrients such as Phosphorus and
Ammonia in sensitive Waters due to their negative impact on the ecosystems.
Wastewater generated from these establishments can no longer be discharged
without prior treatment.
