Guidelines for Summer Training

As part of the curriculum, each student has to undergo supervised field training with reputed
project engineering / Construction / Consulting firm for a period of 8 to 10 weeks (Between
April 17, 2017 and June 30, 2017).
Kindly note the following:
1. If a student is planning to do Summer Training in a company by his/her own choice,
without assistance from the placement office, kindly convey the name of the company,
location and period of training to the Placement office as well as the Head, PGP IFDM.
2. You are required to carry out the allotted work and assignments at the designated
departments of the particular organization.
3. During Summer Training, you are representing NICMAR, and hence expected to exhibit
good conduct and behavior.
4. During Summer Training you are bound by the rules and regulations of the particular
organization where you are undergoing Summer Training.
5. Through Summer Training you are expected to receive meaningful and supervised work
experience.
6. Your professional conduct and hard work will create a chance for pre-placement offer
(PPO) from the Organization.
7. Interact with people from different departments and try to collect data relevant to your
thesis work.
8. Obtain certificate of completion of training from the supervising officer, in the format
provided.

Guidelines for preparing Summer Training Report:

You are required to compile a report on your observations and learnings during the course of
Summer Training.

The report shall include:

1. Brief details of the Organization and project (if, any) where Summer Training was imparted.
2. Responsibilities assigned under various designated departments during Summer Training.
3. Details of skills learned and knowledge gained during Summer Training.
4. Brief about your contribution to the organization and/or project, in terms of specific plans,
charts, reports, formats etc.
5. Any specific observation regarding technical and managerial aspects.
6. Any specific achievement or accolades received during Summer Training.
7. Brief Summary of your Summer Training experience.
8. Certificate from the concerned official.
