Higher SS rates a sweet pill to swallow

Cash patient revenue trend reversed to growth mode in April;
2Q17 looks promising thanks to early rainy season
Target double-digit revenue growth in FY17F; SSO may
announce new rates soon which could increase earnings by 7%
Maintain OUTPERFORM rating with DCF-based TP of Bt16.0/sh
(7.8% WACC, 3% LTG), implying 22x FY17F EV/EBITDA
Free health checks under SS scheme to boost revenue by 2%
The management team led by Chairman and CEO Dr. Chalerm hosted
the analyst briefing yesterday. The soft 1Q17 results was mainly due to
flat cash patient revenues yoy due to a high-base in 1Q16 because of
illness outbreaks. But operations should return to normal in 2Q17 Teerapol UDOMVEJ
premised on positive growth yoy in cash patient revenue in April and the 662 - 659 7000 ext 5012
rainy season starting early this year. Revenue from Social Security (SS) teerapol.udomvej@krungsrisecurities.com
patients remain strong led by a larger base of 781k members in 1Q17
(+6% yoy). This year, SSO is offering member free health checks valued Key Data
at Bt200-825 per person. This would lift BCHs revenue by 2% 12-mth high/low (Bt) 16.1 / 10.3
Market capital (Btm/US$m) 31,171.8 / 913
(c.Bt100m) assuming 25% of members take up the offer. BCH booked
3m avg. turnover (Btm/US$m) 99.2 / 2.9
Bt20m revenue from health checks in 1Q17. Free float (%) 38.1
Issued shares (m shares) 2,494
Expect SSO to announce higher payment rates
Major shareholders:
BCH is still guiding for double-digit earnings growth in FY17 and expect - HARNPHANICH CHALERM 32.6
WMC to breakeven at EBITDA level and possibly net profit level. We - HARNPHANICH SOMPORN 7.4
conservatively forecast WMC would post smaller loss of Bt131m (vs - STOCK EXCHANGE OF TH 4.7
Bt172m loss in FY16). Overall, we expect FY17F earnings to grow 16%
to Bt874m. There is upside risk to our forecast if SSO announces higher Share Price Performance
payment rates, which we expect to be across the board: 3% for fixed
payments and chronic diseases and 15% for high-intensity cases
(Relative Weight > 2). If the new rates are applied from July, they could
lift FY17F net profit by 7%.
BCH remains our top pick; trading at attractive valuation
BCH remains our top pick in the healthcare sector as it offers 16%
earnings growth (CAGR) over FY16-19F while trading at 36x FY17F
P/E, relatively in line with regional peers average. We recommend to
accumulate the stock to capture recovering operations from 2Q17
onwards. YTD 1Mth 3Mth 12Mth
