MY DREAM VACATION

The tourist attractions of

Taiwan.

My dream vacation is to go to the Republic of China, otherwise

known as Taiwan or Formosa. It is found in the Asia continent. The

population there is around 23 million people, as of 2009. Taiwan is

highly known for their high technology, friendliness, older culture

and modern songs. Many Mandopop artistes go there or are from

there develop a good business career in the entertainment industry

in Taiwan. Some examples are the commonly known Pop King – Jay

Chou, the Dancing King – Show Luo, Wang Lee Hom and David Tao.

Taiwan is often known for its baseball, and many baseball players

such as Wang Jian Ming who has been recruited by American

baseball teams.
-Jade Mountain.

In Taiwan, the mountain ranges occupy almost half of the whole

island. An example of these mountains is Jade Mountain, which is

the highest peak of Taiwan. The Jade Mountains run along the

southwestern flank of the Central Mountains.

-Evening at Sun
Moon Lake.

Water bodies are commonly found in Taiwan. One of the most

famous one is Sun Moon Lake. The Sun Moon Lake is the largest

body of water in Taiwan. The east side of the lake represents a Sun

while the west side of the lake represents a Moon, hence its name.

The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the festivals that they celebrate

there with fireworks.

-The lovers’ bridge at
the Tamshui
Fisherman’s Wharf

Another physical attraction of Taiwan is the Tamshui Fisherman’s

Wharf. It is located at the western tip of Taiwan. There, besides the

beautiful scenery, you may get to watch singer’s concerts

occasionally. On Valentines Day, many people gather there to

celebrate the annual special day with their loved ones.

-Tea house at Alishan

Other than the Jade Mountain, another famous mountain is Alishan.

Alishan is a nature preserve and is well known for its sunrises. It is

also recognised for its culture of the aborigines (Tsou tribe).

-Unique rocks at
Keelung Peace Island.

The Keelung Peace Island is a rocky island located in Keelung, as

its name states. Keelung is located in the northeast of Taiwan. The

island is mostly made up of rock terrains, which gives a unique

topography to this petite sized island. The rocks may sometimes

form caves, which are specially named to what they resemble.

-Taipei 101

Many buildings are specially built for the fact that they represent

the Taiwan’s economy. One such building is the Taipei 101, which

was previously known as the tallest building in the world. The Taipei

101 is also known as the Taipei Financial Center. It holds several

world records and it is a sure must to visit for its scenic view over

Taichung at the 88th level.

-A full house situation at
a singer’s concert at the
Taipei Arena.

The Taipei Arena is a stadium, which serves many purposes such

as to hold sports events and concerts. Many singers look forward to

having their concerts there as their dream. One such lucky person

was Show Luo, who was the first ever person to open his concert

there. I would like to visit the Taipei Arena as has a creative

architecture. There are many night markets in Taiwan. The variety

of food there range from Japanese to Western cuisine.

-Crowded streets of the

Shihlin Night Market.

The biggest night market found there is the Shihlin Night Market.

There, they serve food like fried chicken steak, peanut candy, oyster

omelette, tempura and stinky tofu. The crowds start to fill the

streets as the working and schooling hours start to end. This causes

a massive ‘human jam’.

-National Theatre and
Concert Hall.

The National Theatre and Concert Hall is a venue where most

performances of arts are held. It contains the largest pipe organ in

Asia. Many famous musicians and orchestras have performed there.

If you are someone who enjoys classical and Baroque music, it is

certainly a must visit for you.

-Bailing Sports Park.

Bailing Sport Park is a multi-use sport venue located in Shihlin. Its

name suggests that the people who exercise are healthy and will

live till a hundred years. It consists of basketball courts, baseball

fields, croquet courts, football pitches, rugby fields, roller skating

rinks, and tennis courts.

I hope that all the factors and places I have listed out will convince

the teachers to go to Taiwan because in Taiwan, whether is it

looking at sceneries, enjoying aesthetics performance or doing

sports, there are always venues to go to.
