Remembering Robin

I spoke with Bob Grant on Sunday who was telling me
how important blood donations were to so many people. I
know that to be true and I know many of you do too, because
this congregation has always been a leader in blood donation.
He told me this story and I asked him to write it up. Th thing
you need to know before reading is that Bob has given over
55 gallons of blood in his life, a pint at a time. I admire his
commitment and dedication, all because his life was touched
in an important way. Just as we celebrate the life that comes
to us in the blood of Christ, let us celebrate those who give life
through the gift of blood donation.

As the Oklahoma Blood Institute celebrates and honors blood donors and the lives Join us for

who spent her life as a member of this congregation.

that matched her blood and strengthened her to the point she could survive a kidney

Block Party Canceled Certification Class
With much regret, Block Party 2010 has been canceled. However, we will still put

Welcome Anna Lisa Stanley to the Staff! Pictures now available
The Personnel Committee and FCC Board has
approved the hiring of Anna Lisa Stanley as our new
Director of Children’s Ministries. Anna Lisa and
husband Cole have two children, Caleb and Audrey.
The family has attended First Christian for several
years, following their move to Edmond from
Knoxville, TN.
Anna Lisa has been active as a volunteer for
children’s Sunday School, Unite, served as co-director
of VBS this last summer, and has been an active
member of the Cougar’s sunday School class.
Stop by the church office and welcome Anna Lisa to the staff!

Greg Bunton back to Full-Time
The Personnel Committee and FCC Board has
approved a new job description for Greg Bunton.
This brings Greg back on full-time staff at First
Chrtistian. Greg will continue with his duties as
Associate Minister of Student Ministries, and will
also assist the pastoral staff with the planning and
coordinating of Outreach, assist with Pastoral Care,
and Creative Programming as funds are available.

Thanks to all who came out to help fill shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.
My apologies to those who came after we were finished. We ran out of small
items after filling 54 boxes. We are in need of more small items to use at our next
packing party to be held on August 18th. Please bring small items to church and
either bring to the Challenger’s room on Sunday or leave with Karla Mahan dur-
ing the week.
