Rationale I chose to use this as an artifact for my college
class because I shows that I am able to complete
accounting. I did well on this problem. The reason
I chose this problem is because it shows that I can
do different things. I had to be able to record
transactions, post, and rule the journal.
Knowledge To complete this artifact I had to know how to post
to a general journal. I also had to know and
understand the main functions of accounting.
Another thing I needed to know how to do was
carry the totals forward. I had to figure out what
ledgers to post the numbers too as well.
Skills In this reinforcement activity, I had to be able to
know how to use a thing called the general journal.
I also had to know where each number had to be
journalized. Some accounts have a credit balance
and others had a debit balance and it was my job to
be able to know what each one was. I also had to
be able to post a ledger. After I was done doing all
of that, I had to post and make sure the numbers
match.
Growth and Improvement I learned a lot by the time I got faced with this
Statement problem. I would have never been able to
complete this problem and do well on it at the
beginning of the school year. I learned how to
journalize transactions, post totals, prove the
journal, and prove cash which I used all of these in
this reinforcement activity.
