1. SCOPE

The objective of this document is to give the list of the Operational Parameters and of the
measurements/states of the Data Processing Computer (DPC) configured as RSM in a
standalone or co-mounted architecture.
The Operational Parameters are defined as parameters which can be modified on site by using
the Site Dependent Parameters Tool (SDPT).
The Operational Parameters are managed by the MRP CSCI for each channel of the secondary
surveillance radar and are accessible by the SDPT (CBP CSCI).

This document is divided in two parts:

The first part gives the list of the Operational Parameters and Controls, accessible with SDPT
(CBP),
The second part gives the list of Measurements and States, accessible by SDPT (CBP).
This document is applicable to CBP Param config RSM CIRIUS 14.03-1.

2.1 LIST OF RSM970S OPERATIONAL PARAMETERS
2.1.1 General
Parameter file transfer
Parameter file transfer and application from SDPT (CBP) to MRP is the main method of
parameter modification in MRP. The different types of parameter files which can be
transferred from/to MRP are:
Global type (GBL), containing the General parameters (which are site dependent) and the
Technical parameters (which are not site dependent), except cluster dependent parameters,
Cluster Management Parameter type (CMP), containing the Cluster Dependent parameters
which are unique for a cluster definition,
Radar Parameter Set type (RPS), containing the Cluster Dependent parameters which
depends on the cluster state (up to 16 RPS files may be present in MRP),
Coverage Map type (COV), containing the coverage map parameters (up to 16 COV files
may be present in MRP).
The useful operations which can be performed with CBP are the following ones:
Transfer of a complete set of parameter files (GBL, CMP, RPS, COV)
Transfer of only the GBL parameter file.
Transfer of only the Cluster Dependent Parameter files (CMP, RPS, COV)
MRP accepts these transfers from CBP whatever its operating state is. MRP accepts the
application command from CBP only when its operating state is maintenance.
The application of all files (or of a GBL file only) in MRP is always an immediate application.
The application of CDP files only in MRP may be immediate or differed.

Parameter direct access

Some MRP parameters can be read and modified individually by SDPT operator according to
the Direct access parameter attribute; in such a case, the parameter modification is accepted
or not by MRP according to its operating state.
RCMS access to parameters
Furthermore, some parameters can be read and/or modified individually by RCMS according
to the Key parameter attribute; in such a case, the parameter modification is accepted or not
by MRP according to its operating state.

Parameter list description
The following section gives the list of each operational parameter, managed by MRP and
accessible with SDPT (CBP). For legibility purpose, the list is organised per families of
parameters.
The table includes the following information for each parameter:
The parameter title,
The parameter description,
The parameter type: OPE (OPErational parameter), TEC (TEChnical parameter). Only the
technical parameters for which the reading access is necessary for maintenance purpose
and so authorised to the SDPT operator are listed in this document,
The parameter category, for the Operational parameters only: GEN (General), CMP (Cluster
Management Parameter), RPS (Radar Parameter Set),
The type of parameter file (GBL, CMP, RPS, COV), where the parameter is stored,
The key operational parameter attribute K (Key) / N (Not key), indicating whether the
parameter can be monitored (read only) and/or modified by the RCMS operator (K) or not
(N),
The direct access parameter attribute D (Direct) / N (Not direct), indicating whether the
parameter can be read and modified individually in MRP by SDPT (D) or not (N),
The operational / maintenance attribute OM (Operational and Maintenance) / M
(Maintenance only), useful for the parameters with Direct access allowed, indicating whether
the parameter is modifiable by direct access from CBP in both MRP operating state (OM) or
only in maintenance (M) state,
The init update attribute I (Init) / N (Not init), indicating whether a re-initialisation of
MRP/MRC is necessary for taking into account the parameter value change (I) or not (N),
The alignment attribute: A (Alignment), N (No alignment), I (Indifferent), indicating whether
the parameter is always subject to alignment (A), or never subject to alignment (N), or if this
is indifferent (I).

In the following table, - means not applicable.

- DIFFERENCE RSLS value (from -10 dB to +10 dB, step = 1 dB) QRSLS output by the receiver to the MMX in order to indicate if the video
- DIFFERENCE RSLS validation has been received on the main lobe (if VS > VW + K1) and in a central
- CONTROL RSLS value (from 0 dB to +10 dB, step = 1 dB) part of the main lobe (VS > VD + K2).
- CONTROL RSLS validation The signal QRSLS is elaborated using:
the Difference RSLS value, named also K2, if Difference RSLS validation
is selected,
the Control RSLS value, named also K1, if Control RSLS validation is
selected.
In MMX (if one RSLS validation is selected), the Mode S and SSR replies
not detected in the main lobe are rejected. Note that this parameter should
be adjusted to leave the beam quite large.
See detail in Receiver Technical Manual and in MMX Technical Manual.

- I/R map 2
each I/R map comprises a power map (sectorized output power
attenuation definition), an IISLS map (sectorized IISLS activation and
attenuation definition), a TVBC map (sectorized TVBC law selection),
programmed in the following way :
- power map content:

additional BDS to be extracted : set to false, the BDS extraction is re-attempt at the scans following the
- BDS identifier (hexadecimal value from 1 to FF, step = 1)) extraction failure.

Radar scheduling for SM1 Defines whether the radar operates SSR, Mode S or Mixed Mode for OPE RPS RPS N N OM N A This parameter is a RPS parameter, allowing to properly handle a cluster
detection of SM1. reconfiguration.

SM1 channel 1 presence SM1 channel 1 is present (false/true) OPE GEN GBL K D OM N A This parameter indicates if the SM1 channel1 has to be declared in order
to be taken into account for the Long Loop Test and at the RCMS level for
monitoring purpose.
GENERAL:
The SM1 channel number is marked with a label located on the front
panel of the corresponding SMS or SMS-1 channel unit. When SMS (or
SMS-1) channel are named (SMS1 or SMS2) in the hereunder lines, it
refers to the channel with the corresponding label.
Parameters set with CBP must be consistent with the one set thanks to
SMSP software (in SDPT) in the corresponding SMS channel unit. For
that purpose, the parameters set with SMSP are marked with a field at
time of recording these parameters. Refer to SMS/SMS-1 Technical
Manual, which gives guidance for setting (section 3).

SM1 channel 2 presence SM1 channel 2 is present (false/true) OPE GEN GBL K D OM N A Identical to SM1 channel 1 presence, but for channel 2.

LLT SM1 Enables to declare the LLT SM1 in alarm in case of SM1 Long Loop OPE GEN GBL K D OM N A When selected, the alarm (LLT SM1 essential for operation) contributes
Test failure to decide an I/R channel hot-switchover, as LLT SM2.
Otherwise (LLT no essential for operation), a warning is declared in case
of Long Loop Test failure. This doesnt induce an I/R channel hot-
switchover.

The availability at RCMS is indicated in the RCMS access column (R means that the measurement/state can be read by RCMS, N means that it is not
available at RCMS).
For the measurements, the availability of statistical values, computed by MRP, in addition to the measurement current value, is indicated in the availability of
statistics column (Y if available, N otherwise, - if not applicable). The available information are minimum, maximum, average and standard deviation values,
computed over a fixed number of periods (scans or seconds, as indicated in the comment column).
