The main idea behind the “Hopscotch – in Search of Vintage Games” project is drawing
young people away from the computer screen and showing them that it is possible to have a
good time without it.
Each country has its distinctive games – games which we (and our parents) used to play when
we were children, such as a game of rounders or bottle caps. The main objective of the project
activities will be to learn about such games from other countries. We decided that in the time
of spinal defects in children it is necessary to find some activity which will offer an
alternative to the sedentary lifestyle spent in front of the computer. The activity which will
require physical and mental fitness, intelligence and – most of all – which will make the
young person go out into the open air.
The project’s innovativeness will also foster language creativity, as the students will need to
create the names of games which do not exist in the English-speaking countries.
