1 ENVIRONMRNTAL POLUTION:
Presence of dangerous unnatural ingredients causing imbalance in the ecosystems and
health hazards to human beings and animals is called pollution.

Environmental pollution means that something which is adding to the environment at a

rate faster than own purification capacity(natural/self purification capacity) as a result
happened adverse effect in ecosystems and health hazards to human beings and animals.

In shortly Environmental pollution means the unfavorable alteration of our

surroundings. It changes the quality of air, water and land which interferes.

There are many different types of pollution, usually named for the location that has
become polluted. For briefly known about environmental pollution six types of
environmental pollution include land pollution, water pollution, air pollution, thermal
pollution, light pollution and noise pollution are discussed,

1.1.1 Air Pollution

Smoke and gases emitted by

human technology account for most air
pollution. This type of contamination is
caused by exhaust from cars and other
vehicles, fossil fuels such as coal or
natural gas, industrial production, and
nuclear radiation.

1.1.2 Soil/Land Pollution

Land pollution includes any type of
waste left on the Earth's surface. It can take
many forms, from garbage on roads or in
landfills to oil spills and industrial debris.
Pesticides and other chemical agents can
also cause land pollution.

1.1.3 Water Pollution

Water pollution occurs when any
pollutant enters a body of water, from rivers
and streams to oceans. Many practices
contribute to water pollution, including raw
sewage, oil spills, chemical refuse and nuclear
spills.

1.1.4 Thermal Pollution

Construction or manufacturing
processes sometimes cause land or water
temperatures to rise, resulting in thermal
pollution. This increase in temperature can
affect marine and plant life.

1.1.5 Light Pollution

Light pollution comes from artificial

light sources, including street lamps or home
lighting. Light pollution limits visibility of
stars and planets.

1.1.6 Noise Pollution

Noise pollution occurs due to the

sounds created by transportation, construction
and other human practices. This pollution can
disrupt animals' habitats and also cause stress
for humans.

1.2 ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION:

Environmental protection is the policies and procedures aimed at conserving the natural
resources, preserving the current state of natural environment and, where possible, reversing
its degradation.

In other words Environmental protection is a practice of protecting the natural

environment on individual, organization controlled or governmental levels, for the benefit of
both the environment and humans

Since 1969, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been working
to protect the environment and human health. All U.S. states have their own state departments
of environmental protection.
The EPA has drafted "Seven Priorities for EPAs
Future", which are:

"Taking Action on Climate Change"

"Improving Air Quality"

"Assuring the Safety of Chemicals"

"Cleaning Up Our Communities"

"Protecting Americas Waters"

"Expanding the Conversation on Environmentalism and Working for Environmental

Justice"

The National Environment Policy of 1997 acts as a framework for environmental

decision making in Tanzania. The policy objectives are to achieve the following:

Ensure sustainable and equitable use of

resources without degrading the environment
or risking health or safety

Prevent and control degradation of land,

water, vegetation and air

Conserve and enhance natural and man-

made heritage, including biological diversity
of unique ecosystems
Improve condition and productivity of degraded areas

Raise awareness and understanding of the link between environment and development

Promote individual and community participation

Promote international cooperation

1.3 ENVIRONMRNTAL MANAGEMENT:

Environmental Management is administrative functions that develop, implement, and

monitor the environmental policy of an organization.

In broad sense, Environmental management is a systematic approach to finding practical

ways for saving water, energy, and materials, and reducing negative environmental impacts. A
proactive environmental management program is a win-win-win proposition because it can
help a property save money, get recognized for environmental leadership, and preserve and
protect unique destinations.

Win 1 Save money

Win 2 Get recognized for environmental leadership
Win 3 Protect and preserve destinations

Environmental management is a purposeful activity with the goal to maintain and

improve the state of an environmental resource affected by human activities.
Environmental Management can be defined as the management of the interaction
and impact of human activities on the natural environment.

In shortly Environmental Management is a group of works which include

environmental pollution and its protection.
