was held at the Pittsburgh Marriot North, Cran-
berry Twp. on Sunday June 4th. Brother Knight
Tom Kerr made his 4th Degree and is now
Sir Knight Tom Kerr. Congratulations Tom!

Our Next meeting is Tuesday, June 20th at
7:30 p.m. in Father Abbate Hall.
The Mon Valley Chapter Meeting will be held at
Our Lady of the Valley in Donora on Tuesday,
June 27th at 8 p.m. Refreshments at 7:30 p.m.
The Bishop Phelan Fourth Degree Meeting this
month will also be held at OLV, Donora, on
Thursday, June 29th at 7:30 p.m.

FATHERS DAY COLLECTION
BENEFITS BISHOPS PROJECT FOR
CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES
Our Council will be holding our annual Fathers
Day Collection at St. Damien of Molokai Parish
after all Masses on Saturday, June 17th & Sun-
day, June 18th at the church. Volunteers are
needed to collect! Anyone interested in helping

Fleatique on the Mon BBQ
June 3, 2017
St. Damien Knights of Columbus held a BBQ Fundraiser during the Spring
Fleatique on the Mon. It was a sellout success. Thanks to Brother Knights
Chris Polaski, Andy Rudy, Tom Kerr, Ralph Weber, Dr. Bill Rykman, Bob Barkey
and Chuck Brooks. Thank you to our Sister Columbiettes, Jennifer Sprecace
and Monica Brooks for their help. And a special thank you to Dierkens Pharmacy
for allowing us to use their parking lot.
POPE FRANCIS NAMES TWO NEW SAINTS.
A century after their visions of the Virgin Mary began inspir-
ing Catholics the world over, two shepherd children from a
small Portuguese town recently attained sainthood. In an emo-
tional service, Pope Francis made Jacinta Marto and her broth-
er, Francisco, the Catholic Churchs youngest saints who did
not die as martyrs. The Virgin Mary is said to have appeared
six times before the siblings, then 7 and 9 years old, and their
cousin, Lucia Dos Santos, 10, between May and October 1917
in the town of Fatima. (from New York Post on May 13, 2017)
Pittsburgh Diocese Vocations - There are still 26 men in the
seminary program for the Dioceses of Pittsburgh. Ordinations
will be on Saturday June 24th at 10:00 AM. There are 5 men
who are eligible for ordination in June.
Prayer for Pittsburgh Seminarians
Dearest heavenly Father, the church founded upon the faith of
the apostles, the blood of the holy martyrs and the courage of
the saints, leads all believers from our earthly pilgrimage to
our heavenly home.
Through the Priesthood of your son, the faithful participate in
the mysteries of salvation by Word and Sacrament. You call
some men to serve the Church as priests to be teachers of the
Faith, proclaimers of the Word, and celebrants of the Holy Eu-
charist.
We pray for the seminarians of Pittsburgh who, by a great act
of faith, are discerning your Providential Call to the Priest-
hood of Jesus Christ. May they be open to your will and re-
spond graciously and generously to the need of the Church.
May our diocesan family continue to receive your blessings as
we advance the cause of the Gospel and manifest your King-
dom in all we say and do.
We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen.
