A Digital Signal Processor is a device that is designed to
manipulate digital data that are measured by signal sensors. The
objective is to process the data as quickly as possible to be able to
generate an output stream of new data in real time.

TMS320F2812 is a Digital Signal Processor which consists of

modules like ADC, PWM, and other communication modules.

The PWM signals generated from TMS320F2812 is used for

triggering semi-conductor devices.

INTERFACING OF DSP WITH PC

STEP 1:-

JTAG Port is connected to the cable

JTAG port of DSP is Connected to the Serial Port of PC
STEP 2:- Select the SD config on the screen
Step 3: Now open the SD config and click on the symbol as pointed by the arrow
Step 4: Now click on the symbol as pointed below which detects the emulator
Then the following picture appears at the bottom that an emulator has been detected as pointed
below
Step 5: Now click on the button as pointed as shown by the pointer which is used for resetting
the emulator
Step 6: Now select the option as shown in the figure
Step 7: Now select the option as pointed by the pointer
MATLAB MODEL FOR GENERATION OF PWM
SIGNALS THROUGH TMS320F2812
STEP 1:- Click on the sine wave block as given below and change the parameters according to the width
of the PWM
Step 2: Double click on the PWM block and set the Timer specifications as given below
Step 3: Click on the outputs and select the desired PWM output pins.
Step 4: Select the logic button in the same dialog box and change the PWM logic outputs in such
a way that PWM1 and PWM2 are complimentary and PWM3 and PWM4 are
complimentary.
Step 5: Select the deadband option in the same dialog box and set it to desired value.
Step 6: After completing the design in Matlab simulink as shown Figures 2.27, 2.28,2.29,
Press the keys Ctrl+b (build). On pressing the keys we can see the building process in
the command window of the Matlab and at the same instant the code generated will be
automatically get dumped into DSP as shown by the pointer
