Research Title : DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM OF MAJORS IN STUDENST OF SMA NEGERI 1

PRAYA WITH K-NN (K-NEAREST NEIGHBOR) METHOD ____________________________
ResearchSynopsis*) :
1. BACKGROUND
The development of android experience many changes very rapidly, along with the
increasingly human needs. Android is very much in demand in this modern era. Android in
general is used not only in adults even in today's age of primary school children already
have mobile phones with operating system based on android. One of the implementation of
the android is the Decision Support System of Election Selection at High School Students 1
Praya. This application is able to work to determine the majors for students at SMA 1 Praya.
The majors for senior high school are now no longer in class XI but in class X. This policy
is said to be a very difficult challenge in its application, both for schools and student
brokers. In addition, majors for high school students are not always in accordance with their
talents, interests, and academic achievements.
Based on the analysis of these problems, it is necessary an application that can help
prospective students and the school in taking a decision of the masters. One of them by
designing and building an application Decision Support System with K-NN Method (K-
NEAREST NEIGHBOR).

2. RESEARCH AIM
In accordance with the existing concepts and efforts to complete this research, the purpose
of this study is :
 1) Can create an application Decision Support System in the selection of Andoid-based
high school majors.
2) Can help the students to determine the jurusn according to the criteria that have been
provided.
3. RESEARCH QUESTION
In connection with the background as described earlier, then the authors formulate the
problem in this case that is :
1) How is the design of Decision Support Support System using K-NN (K-NEAREST
NEIGHBOR)
2) How is the implementation of Decision Support System Choosing the Department
with K-NN Method (K-NEAREST NEIGHBOR)
3) How to make Decision Support System useful as a tool for determining jurusn in
high school students.
4) How to implement Decision Support System in a system in android.
4. Research methodology
The steps used in the preparation of this study use the following research methods:
1) Study of literature
At this stage studied litertur and planning and concepts to form an application
that will be made that is obtained from reference books, internet, and other sources.
2) Data collection and analysis
At this stage is the process of collecting the data needed to create the program, as
well as perform analysis or observation on the data that has been collected for further in
if further.
3) Systems Analysis and Design
After completion at the stage of data collection and analysis then the next step is
to analyze and design the system. At this stage is the design process of the system that
will be created for the next will be in the process further.
4) Programming (Application)
After the design phase of the system then the next stage is the making of the
program. At this stage the previously created system will be applied to the program to
be created. The making of this program will be apikasi on android system operation
and using K-NN (K-Nearst Neighbor) method as its method.
5) Application Trial
The program is completed then do the testing program to determine whether the
application has been made to work correctly in accordance with the system created.
 6) Conclusion Creation
In this final stage is the conclusion or summary of this research and the
conclusions about an application that has been made.
