Record of discussions held on June 24, 2014 with TCS team

9.30-10.00 Campus visit
Meeting started with welcome, introduction of team from CU side and education at CUFE by Dr
Iven Jose, Associate Dean, CUFE
Mr Subbarao, Domain Head, Aerospace vertical, introduced his team members
Dr DNS Kumar, Associate Director, Centre for Research Projects, gave the details of the research
work happening in Christ University and intension to join hands with TCS in the fields of
projects helpful to the society.
Dr Gurumoorthy Hebbar, Coordinator, Mechanical Engineering, explained about the Mechanical
Engineering department activities and the research works going on in the campus.
Professor Abhinandan , Coordinator, Materials Science Engineering Department, IISc, explained
about the UGC centre for Materials Engineering , IISc Bangalore and collaboration models
available at IISc
Dr Shankar gave a detailed presentation on the research works happening in Christ University
and the potential fields where the collaboration with IISc and TCS are possible.
Mr Abdul Naser, Technical Director, Softinway Turbo machinery solutions conducted a
presentation on Ax stream turbo machinery design, analysis and optimization suite.
Dr. Madhukar Rao, Technical Director, ACRi , Bangalore gave a presentation on answer code
and applications to combustion system
Mr Subbarao, Domain Head, Aerospace vertical gave a brief introduction about TCS, The
activities and the fields where industry Academia collaboration is possible.
Possibility of a MOU between TCS and Christ University was discussed. The expectations of
Christ University from TCS and the facilities that can be provided from Christ University side
was discussed. While answering to the Christ University expectations, Mr Subbarao explained
that for the students project or Intern ship, permissions to be taken from the client side also and
is a little difficult. He assured that, he will do needful for extending the placement drive to CUFE
also.
After lunch, TCS team left for the meeting with Honble Vice Chancellor at Christ University
main campus.
