Feature Mini Poster ODUk SNCP

What? Benefits?
ODUk SNCP supports flexible application
ODUk SNCP is a type of protection that provides subnetwork connection scenarios and can protect all or some services
protection (SNCP) for services at the optical channel data unit - k (ODUk) level on ODUk trails.
on the OTN network.

ODUk SNCP Protection

ODUk path
How? Signal flow

Tributary boards and line boards are used together to implement dual-
feeding and selective receiving of services, achieving ODUk SNCP for the Scenario?
services. ODUk SNCP is classified into three sub-types of
protection. Different monitoring methods are used in
the sub-types of protection to provide ODUk SNCP for
services in various scenarios.
SNC/I (Inherent):
Uses SM overheads for monitoring.
Applies to subnets without electrical REG
sites.
No limit is set on the type of services
received by tributary boards
SNC/N (Non-intrusive):
Uses PM or TCM overheads for monitoring.
Applies to sites that contain any sites and do
not have cascading protection.
No limit is set on the type of services
received by tributary boards
SNC/S (Sub-layer):
Uses TCM overheads for monitoring.
Applies to sites that contain any sites and
have cascading protection.
Tributary boards receive OTN services.
