Mr. Kabeer B Haroon, Managing Director of Clean Kerala Company
in his keynote address pointed out that Government has already given
order to Clean Kerala Company to collect all the e-waste from Govt.
offices, which include unused electronics which is older more than 20
years. He said that there are different ways available now a day to dispose
bio-waste, but e-waste disposal from houses are a growing issue. The
lead and cadmium from these e-wastes are affecting generations very
badly. He also said that the public should develop a positive attitude
towards waste management and towards the clean environment. Clean Kerala Company has
lifted 120 ton electronic waste from Kerala last year.

Dr. C Suresh Kumar, General Secretary, CISSA said that it is to create


the right awareness among public about the need and importance of
proper management of e-waste the seminar is organized.

her technical session made her point by elaborating on the rules and
regulations government has enforced for e-waste management in the
country. Also the steps taken by pollution control board to control e-waste
and other waste in the state.

After each session there were interactive sessions moderated by Dr. P G


Rajendran, Director (Projects), CISSA which had
a spectacular participation of the audience. The
seminar began at 10.30 am and ended at 3 pm.
