Machine foundations Answer Suggested

Hi,

I am wondering if some one could post some tutorials, technical papers, Staad files, etc on design and analysis of machine foundations
including dynamic aspects. I would like to use both StaadPro (advanced)and Staad foundations (advanced) to design these structures.

Thanks.

Here are a couple of posts which you may want to check out

The next version of STAAD.foundation Advanced, expected to be released towards the end of the year, will include design of machine
foundation.

Has staad foundation program been updates to include machine foundations? If so, then how can I update my program?!!

The new version of STAAD.Foundation Advanced (version 7) will include the facility to design machine foundation. The new version will be
released in the mid of February.

YOU NEED THIS BOOK:

This is not a finite element problem!

Suresh C. Arya (Author) , Michael O'Neil (Author) , George Pincus (Author)

From this book, I have created a Mathcad file that requires minimal input.

Sye:

I will be very interested in how this is accomplished, as the book I referenced has a lot of graphs for soil embedment, damping parameters,
etc. that I do not see how they will be incorporated to determine the foundation's natural frequencies. This is an entirely different problem
than modeling a STAAD Pro structure for vibrations.

In reply to Paul Dunn:

STAAD.Foundation Advanced dynamic analysis of machine foundations will be based on a combination of the book Design of Structures
and Foundations for Vibrating Machines, Foundations for Industrial Machines and ACI351. 1 .3R_04 . We are trying our best to simply the
input part for users. A sample of input UI (this is still under development and couple of inputs may be added)

Dynamic loads are generated per ACI351. 1 .3R_04 Section 3.2, also user has an option to provide their input. Soil springs and damping are
calculated per ACI351. 1 .3R_04 Section 4.2, also user has an option to provide input. Combined damping is calculated per ACI351. 1 .3R_04
Section 4.2.4. We are using STAAD.pro analysis engine for the dynamic analysis.
