Scenario
Your college student Union is planning to organise many events in the future to raise funds for the
unions activities.
You have been invited by the executive committee of the college Student Union to advise them on
Managing Business Events and training their event organisers. Initially, they want you to prepare a
report on following topics.
Grading tip: You should build on your answer to P2, and explain the key planning activities needed
to be done for the event.
Scenario
The Executive committee of the student union was impressed with your report and they want you to
take the initiative to plan a business event for the student union. They asked you to coordinate with
the event organisers of the union for this event. You are free to decide a suitable business event for
the union.
Task 1.5 (Assessment Criteria: P3)
Grading tip: Make sure keep an accurate record of the activities you carried out to organise the
event and venue; you should include a risk assessment to help you.
Scenario
Choose a business event for the student union which you can provide a support. Provide support
during the running of the event and produce a written report of what you did.
Grading tip: You will need to show how you provided support at the event. You tutor may assess
you on the running of the actual event and may provide observation statements, or you will be
asked to give a written account of what happened.
Grading tip: You should also describe in a written report the problems that you could have as well
as those that you actually had at the event you supported and how they should be dealt with.
Grading tip: You will need to describe the processes that you followed at the end of the event
including the circulation of any materials and the reconciliation of the budget.

You have just run a business event. Now produce a written report to provide a detailed review by
covering the following criteria.

Grading tip: You should look at how successful the event was in terms of meeting its objectives,
how well it was organised and how any issues were solved to keep the activity running smoothly.
