Iran Storage Assessment

Different type of storages are available in every provinces all around the country. Both public and private storages in different sizes are available
to use for the governmental or private companies/NGOs. These storages can be rented/used upon availability of space. There are real agents
whom are active for rental spaces and in case of any urgent needs it is possible to contact agent to find a suitable warehouse based on
requirements

Commercial Storage
Warehouses have big storage capacities. Their structure is made out of steel beams. Floors are concrete and of good quality. All of them allow
the entry of trucks, so that handling can be made inside protected from rain and sun. Doors are made of steel. Electric power is installed and most
of them have insulation in the roofing to protect from heat. Some have electrical ventilation. Closed warehouses are clean. The stacking is made
in a very orderly way, so that one can assume, that a skilled warehouse management is available. All port warehouses have rail sidings. Big
empty warehouse capacities (20,000 m) were found in customs yards at the entry points in Astara, border to Azerbaijan. The port of Bandar
Imam Khomeyni is also offering large warehouses for rent. Government owned warehouse capacity is available in cities like Kermanshah. They
were, however, occupied. The Ministry of Commerce has assured, that in case WFP would need warehouses they could be provided.

Storage Used by Humanitarian Organizations

Currently WFP is using warehouses located in 13 provinces inside the Refugee Settlements. Government has large storage capacities in all
provinces and can provide in case of need. Commercial storage facilities are also available in industrial zones built in each province.
