Applications are invited from MALE Indian citizens for the post of Constable
(Tradesmen) in Border Security Force in the pay hand -I Rs, 5200-20200 + Grade pay Rs.
2000/- plus usual and admissible allowances to Central Govt employees from time to
time. In addition. Ration allowance. Medical Assistance, free uniform, free
accommodation, free leave pass. etc. are admissible to BSF.

Application in the prescribed format given at Annexure-I either by type written or neatly
hand written on one side only of foolscap plain paper with passport size photographs
affixed on application and admit card be sent to the concerned Recruiting Agencies as

Note - Candidates required relaxation in any of the eligibility criteria must

produce certificates issued b\ concerned authority at the time of recruitment so
that they can take benefit accordingly

ELIGIBILITY FOR REEMPLOYMENT OF EX-SERVICEMEN - Ex servicemen being

trained soldiers only written test, trade test and medical fitness test to ascertain Medical
category will be conducted As per Govt's order total relaxation in prescribed physical
standard and education is admissible Relaxation of uppei age limit to the extent of
military service plus 3 years is applicable. However, break in Army service and re-
employment should not exceed 2 years. No physical efficiency test will be held for Ex-
servicemen

Persons serving in Govl/Semi Govt department may send theii applications through
proper channel alongwith No Objection Certificate' as per format in Annexure –III Wards
(Sons) of serving BSF personnel may also apply. Sons of serving BSi- personnel may
apply either from then Home State or from the State in which his father is
posted/deployed at the time of recruitment

Method of Selection
a) At the very beginning of the recruitment process, candidates whose applications
are (bund to be in order will be asked to go through the height bar and thereby,
candidates with lesser height will get eliminated Those who qualify the height test
will be subjected to five kilometers race to be completed within 24 minutes.
b) Original testimonials of the candidates will be checked thereafter and only
eligible candidates will go to the next step.
c) Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates who are found eligible on screening of
testimonials will be screened first for height, chest and weight measurements.
d) Physical Efficiency Test (PET): The candidates, who clear PST, will be required
to undergo PET as under i) 11 feet long jump (3 chances to be given) ii) 'i'A feet
high jump (3 chances to be given)
Note:- Physical Efficiency Tests will only be qualifying in nature and it will not
carry any marks.
e) Trade Test:- Only qualifying in nature.

The candidates who qualify the PET will be put through the respective Trade
Test. Each candidate will be allowed to appear for one trade only as entered in the
application form

Written Test:- for 100 marks

(i.) The candidates who qualify in the PETs and Trade Test will be required to
appear in a written test
(ii.) The Written Test for 100 marks containing 100 questions (qualifying
marks 35% for GC & Gx-Servicemen and 33% for SC/ST/OBC) will
consist of only OMR based objective type multiple choice questions to be
answered using a black pen
(iii.) The question paper will be set to assess the (i) general awareness/general
knowledge, (ii) knowledge of elementary mathematic, (iii) analytical
aptitude and ability to observe the distinguish patters and to test the (iv)
basic knowledge of the candidates in English/Hindi The questions will be
set both in Hindi and English. The papers can be answered either in Hindi
or in English
(iv.) The duration of the Written Test will be 2 hours.

HOW TO APPLY AND BY WHICH DATE

a) Application in the prescribed format at Annexure-I either by type written or neatly
hand written on one side only in foolscap plain paper with passport size
photographs affixing on application duly attested by a Gazette officer with seal be
sent to concerned Headquarter, under which their state falls, on or before 30 days
and 45 days for the candidates belonging to far flung areas of North Eastern States
after publication of this advertisement in Employment News through post
alongwith following documents.
b) Postal order or Demand Draft for Rs. 50/- in favour of Concerned
IG/DIG/Commandant payable at bank of concerned Headquarter, under which
their state falls, as mentioned against each with Code No However, no postal
order or Demand Draft is required to be sent by SC/ST candidates and Ex-
servicemen.
c) Candidates are requested to fill up application form in Hindi or English language.
d) Attested copies of certificate/testimonial as proof of Educational qualification and
age/date of birth and a trade proficiency certificate.
e) Attested copy of caste/category certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates given by an
officer not below Tehsildar or SDO/SDM etc.
f) Attested copy of Domicile certificate issued by an officer not below Tehsildar or
SDO/SDM etc.
g) One self addressed envelope of size 23x10 Cms affixed with postage for Rs.5/-
bearing name and full postal address of the candidate with PIN Code.
h) A form for issue of Admit card will also be filled in and forwarded alongwith
Passport size photographs duly attested by a Gazetted Officer with seal as per
Annexure-II alongwith the application form.
i) Envelope containing Applications must be subscribed in bold letters as

SELECTION PROCESS FPU CONSTABLE (TRADESMAN)

Admit card with roll number and general instructions for appearing for the test/interview
will be issued 15 days prio to the date of lest to the eligible candidates. They will be
called to appear for the same to a place preferably within their Home State for which no
TA/DA is admissible, incomplete application will be stimmariiv rejected and no
correspondence on this will be entertained.
NO APPLICATION AFTER THE LAST DATE AS MENTIONED ABOVE WILL HE
ACCEPTED BY THE RECRUITING AGENCIES
