Overview
Hands-on Training Module
This training module has the following details:

Objective Provide hands on experience with installation of CloudPortal Services


Manager.
Audience Primary: Citrix SEs, Consultants, Tech Support and Partners.

NOT UPDATED: Lab Environment Details


This section is used to describe the lab environment and the virtual machines that are used.

Machine IP Address Details

Exercise 1: Prepare Environment


Overview
CloudPortal Services Manager requires the AD schema to be extended to include the standard Exchange
attributes and prepare the environment for multi-tenancy. You can extend the schema through one of the
following methods:

Use the Schema Prep tool from the Microsoft Exchange installation media. To deploy the Schema
Prep tool, you enter the following command in a Command Prompt window:

o setup /p /on:OrganizationName

Deploy Exchange

As we have Exchange installed and configured already we can skip this step.

What is then left of the preparation is to

o Define the four DNS aliases CPSM needs

o Check that the SQL Server is configured with mixed authentication

o Create a file share to store the CloudPortal setup configuration file.

Step by step guidance

Estimated time to complete this lab: 10 minutes.


Step Action
1. Login to the AD server (Site1-AD.training.lab) with the following credentials.
Username: training\administrator
Password: Citrix123
2. Open the DNS MMC via the shortcut on the Desktop.
3. Expand Forward Lookup Zones

New Alias (CNAME)

5. In the Alias name field, enter


cortexweb

In the FQDN field enter


CPSM.training.lab

Click OK
6. Create three more new CNAME records using the data below
Alias name FQDN
cortexprovisioning CPSM.training.lab
cortexsql SQLServer.training.lab
cortexreports SQLServer.training.lab

7. Login to SQLServer server (Site1-SQLServer) with the following credentials.


Username: training\administrator
Password: Citrix123
8. Open SQL Server Management Studio from Start/All Programs/Microsoft SQL Server
2008 R2.
9. Connect to localhost with Windows Authentication.

10. Right click on the Local SQL instance and
click Properties.

11. In Server Properties click Security, then


under Server Authentication, verify that
the radial button SQL Server and
Windows Authentication mode is
selected.

Then click OK.


12. Go back to the AD server and browse to the C:\ folder.
13. Create a folder and name it
CloudPortalConfig

14. Right click the CloudPortalConfig folder.


Choose Share with>Specific People

15. On the next screen, accept the default share parameters and click Share, then Done.

Exercise 2: Install Databases and Create the


Configuration File
Overview
In this exercise we will setup the CloudPortal databases, and create a central configuration file.

Step by step guidance


Run the CloudPortal setup and choose to setup the databases. Create a configuration file on a file share
located on the AD server.

Estimated time to complete this lab: 10 minutes.


Step Action
1. Log into CPSM (Site1-CPSM) with the following credentials.
Username: training\administrator
Password: Citrix123
2. Browse to \\ad\Software\CPSM11\
3. Launch Setup.exe
4. Once the setup launches click Get Started
5. Locate Install CloudPortal Service Manager and click Select
6. Select Check Environment Prerequisites
7. Verify you have a green check in both fields.

This verifies that the Active Directory schema has been extended and the DNS Aliases
have been created.

Now click Back


8. Locate Deploy Server Roles & Primary Location and click Select.
9. Locate Create System Databases and click Select

10. When prompted to install the configuration tool choose Install.

11. Accept the License Agreement and click Next.


12. Click Install to go ahead and install the Configuration Tool.
13. When the installation is complete, click Finish.
14. Next we will create a
Deployment Configuration
File. Enter the following
information.
\\ad\CloudPortalConfig\
CloudPortalConfig.xml

Click Next
15. In the Create Primary Databases screen, verify that the Server address is CORTEXSQL
and Authentication mode is Integrated, and click Test Connection.
16. A green tick mark should confirm the connection. Click Next.
17. On the Configure Database Logins, accept the defaults. These new SQL logins will be
added to the SQL instance. Click Next.
18. Click Commit.

Verify that everything completed


successfully.

Click Finish.

19. Leave the setup screen open and continue to the next exercise.

Exercise 3: Install Server Roles


Overview
You will deploy the key server roles for CloudPortal Services Manager. We need to do this in two steps, as
all roles cannot be installed in one go.

Step by step guidance


Install and configure the Provisioning, Web, Directory Web Service and Reporting in the CloudPortal
environment.

Estimated time to complete this lab: 15 minutes.


Step Action
1. On the Deploy Server Roles & Primary Location -screen, locate Install Server Roles and
click Select.
2. Accept the license agreement and click Next
3. On the Select Server Roles screen check the following items
Provisioning
Directory Web Service
Web
Configuration Tool (already installed)

Click Next
4. On the Preview prerequisites -screen click Next
5. On the Ready to install -screen click Install
6. Once everything is installed click Finish
7. Now on the Deploy CloudPortal Services Manager -screen Select Configure Server Roles
8. When prompted for the Configuration File point to the following location.
\\ad\CloudPortalConfig\CloudPortalConfig.xml

This is the file we created during the install of the databases.


9. On the Select Configuration Task screen check the following:
Directory Web Service
Provisioning
Web

Then click Next

10. On the Configure Mail Server screen enter the following: Exchange.training.lab.

Test Connectivity and verify that the connection is working.

Then click Next


11. On the Preview Service Package Import screen, review the 3 services that will be
imported BUT DO NOT CHANGE ANTYHING
o AD Synch
o DNS
o FSS

Click Next.
12. On the Configure Directory Web Service -screen enter the following password for the
cortex_dirws_svc account.

Password: Citrix123

Then click Next


13. On the Configure Queue Monitor Service -screen enter the following password for the
cortex_qmon_svc account.

Password: Citrix123

Then click Next


14. On the Configure Directory Monitor Service -screen enter the following password for
the cortex_dirmon_svc account.

Password: Citrix123

Then click Next


15. On the Configure Web Server -screen, verify the cortexweb external address (this will be
bound to the IIS site) and uncheck Use SSL.

Then click Next


16. On the Summary screen click Commit
17. Once the configuration is complete, verify that all packages have installed properly and
then click Finish. You can ignore the possible Queue Monitor service warnings at this
time.
18. Now we will look at some of the configurations the installation have done. Leave the
CPSM install screen open.

19. Open Server manager and expand Roles>WebServer and click on IIS
20. Expand CPSM>Sites and you should see
the following:

Features>Message Queuing>Private

You will see the following queues have been


created.

22. Now switch to the AD server and open Active Directory Users and Computers.
23. You will see a CortexSystem OU with
the service accounts that were created
durring the setup.

Exercise 4: Configure Primary Location and


Service Provider
Overview
In this exercise you will configure the Active Directory location and create the Service provider accounts.

Step by step guidance

Estimated time to complete this lab: 10 minutes.


Step Action
1. Switch back to the CPSM VM.

2. On the Deploy Server Roles & Primary Location screen click Select for Configure
Primary Location

3. When prompted for the Configuration File point to the following location.

\\ad\CloudPortalConfig\CloudPortalConfig.xml

Click Next
4. On the next screen set the following parameters

Description Top location configured for TRAINING.LAB
Customers Organizational Unit
Name: CPSM Customers
Display name: Customers OU

This will be our top CPSM admin


account (= customer)

6. On the next screen enter the following
information:

User name: cspadmin


Full Name: CSP Admin
Password: Citrix123

Click Next

7. On the next screen verify the


information matches the screen
shot. Click Commit

8. Once the configuration is complete click Finish.


9. To verify the CloudPortal is working open Internet Explorer and browse to
http://cortexweb
10. Log into the portal with the following credentials

User Name: cspadmin_csp


Password: Citrix123

11. Once you have logged into the CloudPortal Services Manager click Customers.

12. On this screen you will see the Cloud Service Provider account.
13. Under the Cloud Service Provider
account click Users

14. Here you will see the CSPAdmin account that was created.

15. Now go to the AD server and open Active Directory Users and Computers.
16. You will now see a new OU called
CPSM Customers.

Under this OU you will see the Cloud


Service Provider(CSP).

The user is located in the OU called


User Structure.

Switch back to the CPSM server and reboot the server.

Exercise 5: Installing and configuring the


Reporting Service
Overview
The reporting server role needs to be configures after the top location has been created and configured.

Step-by-step guidance
Estimated time to complete this lab: 15 minutes.
Step Action
1. After the CPSM server successfully rebooted, log back in as TRAINIG\Administrator.

2. Launch the CPSM Setup.exe again from \\AD\Software\CPSM11.

3. Click Get Started, Install CloudPortal Services Manager, Deploy Server Roles & Primary
Location.

4. Locate Install Server Roles and click Select

5. Accept the license agreement and click Next

6. On the Select Server Roles screen


check the following:
Reporting
Report Mailer

Then click Next

7. On the Ready to install screen,
Click Install.

8. Once the install is complete click Finish.


9. On the Deploy Server Roles & Primary Location -screen, locate Configure Server
Roles and click Select.
10. When prompted for the Configuration File point to the following location.

\\ad\CloudPortalConfig\CloudPortalConfig.xml

Then click Next


11. On the Select Configuration Task select:

Report Mailer
Reporting

Then click Next

12. On the Reporting Database Credentials screen, enter the following password for the
OLMReportingUser.

Password: Citrix123

Then click Next


13. On the Configure Mail Server, Test the connectivity and press Next.

14. On the Preview Service Package Import, scroll down to see that the reports for our 3
services (AD Sync, DNS and FSS) are being imported.

DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING.

Press Next

15. On the Configure License Reporting Settings screen enter the following information.
Customer ID: AAAA-BBB-CC-1234567890-DDDD (not a real customer ID, just for lab.)

Set Citrix123 as password for cortex_RM_svc.

Then click Next.


16. On the Configure Mail Server for Report Mailer, accept the defaults and click Next.
17. On the Configure Reporting Database
screen, place a check next to Use primary
database settings.

Then click Next.

18. On the Configure Data Transfer Service screen, enter the following password for the
csm_datatransfer_svc -account.

Password: Citrix123

Then click Next.


19. On the Data Transfer Notifications
screen enter the following data.
Success Notifications
- From: success@training.lab
- To: datatransfer@training.lab
Failure Notifications
- From: failure@training.lab
- To: datatransfer@training.lab

(all fake accounts as we will not be using


them for this lab)

Then click Next

Step Action
20. To get the Report server URL, we need to go to the SQL Server. Switch to SQLServer.

21. Click Start -> All Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 -> Configuration
Tools-> Reporting Services Configuration Manager.

Click Connect to connect to SQLSERVER/MSSQLSERVER.

22. In Reporting Services Configuration Manager, click Web Service URL from the left
hand side panel.

23. Click the Report Server Web Service URL from roughly the middle of the window, and
wait for Internet Explorer to start.

Copy the URL from the address bar in IE. We will use this URL to configure CPSM.
24. Switch back to the CPSM
configuration screen and paste the
URL in the Report server URL
field.

Enter the following credentials:


Training\Administrator
Citrix123

Then click Test Connection

25. Once you have verified that the connection works click Next.
26. On the Data Warehouse Service, set Citrix123 as password for csm_dataw_svc, and click
Next.
27. Now click Commit.
28. Once the configuration is complete click, verify that everything installed properly, and
the click Finish.

29. Now, click Exit to close the installer.

Exercise 6: Creating Customers and Users


Overview
In this exercise we will log in as the Citrix Service Provider and create a customer, customer admin, and
users. Then we will log in as the customer admin and we will add users to the customers account, create a
user with delegated administrative rights and create a user as the delegated admin.

Step Action
1. Launch Internet Explorer, point it to http://cortexweb and logon as the Cloud Service
Provider Administrator

User Name: cspadmin_CSP


Password: Citrix123

Point to Customers then choose


New Customer

3. Use the following information to create the


new customer:

Full Name: DMPaper


Code: This should auto populate with DMP

Contact Name: Mike Scott


Email: MikeS@DMPaper.local

Domain Name : DMPaper.local

Click Provision

4. On this screen we are going to create the
administrator account for this customer.
To create the Administrator account use the
following information:

UPN: mikes
Username: This is auto populated and the
UI shows _DMP because it will be
appended to the username for uniqueness.

Password: Citrix123

5. On this screen we can provision the customer services, but since we have no services
configured we will skip this and create users for this customer.

Go to Users>New User

7. Use the information below to create this


user:

UPN: DwightS
Username: Auto populated
First Name: Dwight
Last Name: Schrute

Click Provision

This user will is now created under the


customer DMPaper.

8. Now lets log in as the customer admin and
create users.

From the upper right corner, click Log Off

Log on with the following credentials:

9. Click Customers.

You will notice that you are able to see your


customer account. Here a customer admin
can edit their own customer account.

10. Now lets create a new user, logged in as the


customer admin.

Go to Users>New User

11. Use the information below to create this


user:

UPN: JimH
Username: Auto populated
First Name: James
Last Name: Halpert

Password: Citrix123

Click Provision

Here you can see that the customer


admin can create his own users.

administration rights.

Click Users>New User

13. Use the information below to create this

Then click Account Settings

drop down menu and select User

16. Then scroll down and click Provision.

customer. Notice that the users with
administrative rights have a different icon
than the other users.

Log off of the portal.

19. Now lets log in as the User Administrator.

Log on with the following credentials:

You will notice that you are able to see your


customer account. However the option to
Edit Customer is grayed out for User
Administrators.

Click Users.

21. Here you will see this user is able to see a list of available users. As a User Administrator
you can edit users, add users, deprovision, disable and delete users.
22. Now go to the AD server and open Active Directory Users and Computers
23. Refresh the CortexCSP OU.

Under the CortexCSP OU you will now see


a DMPaper(DMP) OU.

The users will be located in the User


Structure OU.

Configuring the File Sharing Service.

1. Log onto the CloudPortal Server as the Cloud Service Provider Administrator
User Name: cspadmin_CSP
Password: Citrix123

2. Click Configuration>System
Manager>Service Deployment

3. Here we will enable the File Sharing Service


as a top-level service. This will allow you to
enable the service at your locations.

Under Service Overview click File Sharing

Plan.

Click Customer Plans.

5. In the Name field type in FileSharing.

Click Create.

6. Now scroll down and locate the File Share Path setting. Enter the following path:

In this lab we are going to provision the File Sharing service to the customer, then we are going to log in
as the customer admin and provision the service to all the users.

NOTE: Lab instructions not tested with CPSM 11!!!

1. Log onto the CloudPortal Server as the Cloud Service Provider Administrator

To create a Reseller we must first
create them as a Customer.

Click Customers then New


Customer

3. Use the following information to create the


new customer:

Full Name: Stark Industries


Code: This should auto populate with SI

Contact Name: Tony Stark


Email: ironman@stark.ind

Domain Name : Stark.ind

Click Provision

4. On this screen we are going to create the
administrator account for this customer with
the following information:

UPN: ironman

Username: This is auto populated and the


UI shows _SI since it will be appended to
the username for uniqueness.

5. On this screen we will officially make this


customer a reseller. We will provision the
reseller service and give them the ability to
sell the File Sharing Service.

Click Reseller.

Under Reseller Administrator:

Verify that Tony Stark is listed

Check File Sharing

Click Provision

7. Once the Reseller service has been provisioned this Reseller can now log onto CloudPortal
Services Manager, create customers and sell services.
