perform that program

Non-full ensemble repertoire selections; provide scores for students to

6, 7, and 8th grade bands almost as a festival

More of an experience objective than a curriculum objective

Defining Success:

accessibility/pleasure spectrum
keep people in the program
o doing the right thing if you retain students, and they show up with
respect for what theyre doing
Sincerity and enthusiasm over seriousness
Creating student role models: bring them in to practice in the band room, een
if its just one; also creates more focus

Extra-musical components to band rehearsals:

Feeling of a club: end of year picnics, parties, etc.


Critical listening to performances recordings and rehearsal recordings of
both themselves and the greats
o Opportunities for discussion

Pair up with a local collegiate music department
