Amendments to the Rules of Casino Table Games Casino

Promotions
Pursuant to section 367 of the Gambling Act 2003 the following amendments to the Rules of
Casino Table Games (Casino Promotions) were prescribed on 10 June 2015.

These amendments take effect from the day after notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Casino Promotions

1. Within section 1.0 Interpretation, the following interpretation is inserted

alphabetically:
Minimum Operating Standards means standards specified by the Secretary under
section 141 of the Gambling Act 2003, for the day-to-day operation of a casino;.
2. Within section 1.0 Interpretation the interpretation of Gambling Area is amended
by replacing the words by the Gambling Commission with the words by the
Commission.
3. Within section 1.0 Interpretation the interpretation of Match Play Coupon is
amended by replacing the words in accordance with an approved promotional design
with the words in accordance with a Promotional Design.

4. Throughout the text of the rules, the term approved procedures is replaced with the
term Minimum Operating Standards.
5. Rules 4.2(a) and 4.2(b) are amended by replacing the words in a gambling area of the
casino with the words in a Gambling Area both times they appear.
6. Rule 4.3A(a) is deleted and replaced with the following:
(a) when Match Play Coupons are used in a promotion involving a table game,
the minimum and maximum wagers as set out in the Rules of Casino Table Games
apply as follows:
(i) the minimum wager shall be comprised of:
(A) chips only; or
(B) at the casino operators discretion, a combination of chips and Match
Play Coupons provided that the Promotion Design permits this and
conditions of use are specified on the Match Play Coupons; and
(ii) the maximum wager cannot be exceeded by a combination of
chips and Match Play Coupons;
7. Rule 4.18 is amended by replacing the words in accordance with procedures approved
from time to time by the Secretary with the words in accordance with Minimum
Operating Standards.
8. Rule 5.5 is amended by replacing the words in the gambling area of the casino with
the words in the Gambling Area.
9. Rule 7.3 is amended by replacing the words playing panel with the words Play Panel
both times it appears.
10. Throughout the text of the rules, all terms that are defined in section 1.0
Interpretation of the rules for Casino Promotions and section 1.0 Interpretation of
Division 1 General Rules for Table Games will be amended to be capitalised.
