Iraq Invades Kuwait
Yesterday Iraqi leader Sadam Hussein ordered
the invasion and occupation of neighbouring
Kuwait in early August 1990. Alarmed by these
action fellow Arab power such as Saudi Arabia
and Egypt called on the United States and
other western nations to intervene Iraqs
invasion. Iraqs aim is acquiring that nations
large oil reserves, cancelling a large debt Iraq
owed Kuwait, and expanding Iraqi power in
the region.
Operation Desert Shield a.k.a The Gulf War
started (2, August 1990. Iraqs invasion and the
potential threat it then posed to Saudi Arabia,
the worlds largest oil producer and exporter,
this was the start of the operation to
accumulate and strengthen troops and
defences. In its battle phase was a war waged
by 35 nations led by the United States against
Iraqs invasion. A soldier who experienced the

terrorism. People have different opinions
about different things. But this soldier just said

In 2002, the United States led by George W Bush
son of the former president. Sponsored a new
U.N resolution calling for the return of weapons
inspector to Iraq. Because of Saudi Arabia and
Egypt paid the United States. Iraq is taking a big
risk taking on 36 nations including Kuwait.
Taking on the great nations support, Iraq is
equalled with everything they throw at it.
By January 1991 the allied coalition against Iraq
had reached strength of 700,000 troops,
including 540,000 U.S. personnel and smaller
numbers of British, French, Egyptians, Saudis,
Syrians, and several other national contingents.

In coalition occupied Iraqi territory, a peace
conference was held where a ceasefire
agreement was negotiated and signed by both
sides. The United States-led coalition failed to
support the uprisings, afraid that the Iraqi state
would be dissolved if they succeeded. In the
years that followed, U.S. and British aircraft
continued to patrol skies and mandate a no-fly
zone over Iraq, while Iraqi authorities made
every effort to frustrate the carrying out of the
peace terms, especially United Nations
weapons inspections.
