Clearance Inspection Measure both the intake rocker shafts and the exhaust 3. Measure the inside diameter of the rocker arm, and rocker shaft. check for out-of-round condition.
1. Measure diameter of shaft at first rocker location. Rocker Arm-to-Shaft Clearance:
Standard (New): Intake: 0.017-0.050 mm (0.0007 - 0.0020 in) Exhaust: 0.018 - 0.054 mm Inspect rocker arm (0.0007 - 0.0021 in) face for wear. Service Limit: 0.08 mm (0.003 in)
MICROMETER
2. Zero gauge to shaft diameter.
Inspect rocker arm
face for wear.
Repeat for all rockers.
If over limit, replace rocker shaft and all overtol- CYLINDER BORE erance rocker arms. GAUGE
