Installation Procedure
IMPORTANT
For a trouble-free installation, ensure that you connect your unit to
a power outlet and that your unit remains on during all the process.
Once the installation is started, a wizard will guide you through the necessary
steps.
To perform a system upgrade on your unit:
1. Connect your unit to a power outlet.
2. If necessary, turn on the unit.
3. If it is not already done, log on to Windows using an account with administrator
user rights.
4. If desired, back up important data that is stored on your unit using the USB
Data Mover application (Utilities tab > USB Data Mover).
5. Exit all running applications.
6. From the Windows desktop (or the folder to which you have copied the system
upgrade file), double-tap the SetupSysUpg.exe file to start the installation.
7. When the wizard prompts you, press Next.
8. Read the end-user license agreement. If you agree with it, select the I Agree
option, and then press Next.
Note: The acceptance of the license agreement is mandatory to be able to continue with
the installation.
Note: It is possible that your unit has to restart a few times during the upgrade process.

IMPORTANT
EXFO does not provide licenses for Adobe Flash Player. Contact
Adobe to purchase a license that will entitle you to install Flash
Player on your unit.
To download the installation files, you will need a connection to the Internet. You
can either download the files directly to your unit or to a computer (and transfer
them to your unit later using a USB key).
Note: Only administrator-level users can install software under Windows Embedded
Standard. However, when the installation is complete, all users can read files in
Flash format.
IMPORTANT
Ensure to download the latest installation package for the 32-bit
version of Flash Player for Windows (operating system), and
Internet Explorer (browser). You should retrieve the EXE installer
component.
Note: At this point, if you have used a USB memory key to transfer the installation files to
your unit, you can remove it.
