THE PLANE OF LEARNING

SDAIE STRATEGY (Specially Designed Academic Instruction for English):


Bridging Strategy: This game will help the students to establish a link between verbs they
are learning and verbs they already know.

Competency:
At the end of the class, students will enunciate and pronounce correctly
words in English, using verbs in simple present in that language, to
practice short conversations with their classmates in their English class.

Use:
In all content areas (English, Math and other subjects)

Levels:
Kindergarten and Elementary school.

Stages:
All stages of 2nd. Learning a second language acquisition:
o Preproduction Early production Speech Emergence
Intermediate fluency Advanced fluency
All stages in class:
o Pre teaching During Teaching Post Teaching

Teaching Points:
Grammar Points:
Action verbs: Walk Run Jump. Like Want Wish.

Theme:
Summer time!

Instructions:
EFLT draws a plane on the floor. Each square has a word (instead of a number).
Students are formed in a row. Everybody has the opportunity to play.
EFLT plays a happy music.
Students jump from square to square.
When music stops, students stop jumping and
They read the verb written on the floor, according to what they have learned.

Follow up:
Students remember other verbs, related to the ones taught. (Ex. Walk! Jog!)
Students remember opposite verbs. (Ex. Walk! Sit or Stop)

Assessment:
Point and say Group activity:
Students stand up and talk to other students, saying the verbs and doing the action.
