tie event which raised 1.5 million dollars for UCLA's arts
programs.

The evening was a double treat for Eagles/Henley fans. Don Felder
backed up Henley and Simon during their sets and the audience
was treated to two NEW Henley songs. That's right! Two new
songs! Besides crooning the obligatory Heart of the Matter and Best
of My Love, Don did two songs that he announced were from his
album which would be released in September (for those of you who
have started marking your calendars in PENCIL).

Someone who was there gave us a rundown on the new songs. The
first was a ballad titled "For My Wedding" (or something like that....
different reports gave different titles...they all used the word wed-
ding, though). This song, described as, "haunting", blew the audi-
ence away and soothed them into hushed silence. "l knew that

stage to sing pop, jazz and blues standards. Don ex-
plained why he chose this type of music. " I thought it was
time to do something different. This kind of music is en-
joying a resurgence again right now, and we live in such
chaotic times, I think it's nice to have a little romance and
a little escape, and this concert tonight will be like walking
into a black- and-white Humphrey Bogart movie, you
know. lt will be a nice transportation back in time." The
critics loved it. Highlights of the evening included a BjorU
Mitchell duet on "What ls This Thing Called Love?" and
Mitchell's version of the event's title song, "Stormy
Weather". All of the singers were backed by the El Nino
Orchestra and introduced by emcee Ed Begley Jr.

Attending the event were the rest of the current Eagles, Don sports the "sleep deprivation look" while talking to CNN's Jim
James Taylor, Sting and Mick Fleetwood. Moret.

Jerry Seinfeld hosted the after-party at Chasens, appar-

ently working off a debt to Don. Don told the Dallas Morn-
ing News that Jerry, "...made a commitment to help me out
a long time ago and he is honoring that commitment now.
He is a gentleman and a true professional." Part of this
professional relationship involves the use of Henley music
in the last episode of Seinfeld. Some reports say it is new
material, but the show has used Eagle music before in the
episode where Elaine dates a man who's personal song is
Desperado, so perhaps it is an old song. Don relied on
quite a bit of relationships to get this show off the ground.
"l would like to think that all these fine artists are partici-
pating because of the good will that I have built up in the
music industry over the past 26 years. I have made it a
point to give as good as I get, and I have responded many
times annually to the calls of other artists for help with their
particular charities. I believe in the old saying 'What goes Don Felder attended Stormy Weather and performed at Royce
around comes around' in both the positive and negative
sense."

Max Carl and Glenn perform at Boston's free
Earth Day concert on April 25 despite con-
stant rain showers. Glenn did a 'play and
wave" to get to a corporate gig in Florida with
Joe Walsh. Those in attendance saw Glenn
arrive shortly before performing, eat some
fruit, play and then quickly leave. Before tak-
ing off, Glenn performed "Smuggler's Blues"

other hand, met with fans before the show,
signed autographs and chatted. Afterwards
he spent more time with fans at the Strawber-
