    THE SENTINEL POLICE ASSOCIATION "FOREVER VIGILANT » FOREVER STRONG" 1880 CENTRAL PARKWAY: CINCINNATI, OHIO 45214 PHONE (813) 681-3807: FAX (813) 651-9710 Av a Black Law Enforcement Officer, who works directly with the youth of our community find myself questioning the very system | have taken an oath We support, Asa Father and an Uncle of 17 year old Black Males, 1 an trying to find the words to elearly articulate what happened and why, providing only truthful answers, ‘This is where I fine myself at an ‘uncomfortable place ~ Truth, What js the truth? Why-is this officer nat being held accountable for his actions? Clearly he exercised bad tactics, and! bad tacties should not cause a person to lose their life, we challenge people in the conimunities to hold themselves aceountable for theit actions and we are no different? Why have not ance but twice twelve jurors who are considered ‘our peers been unable 19 hold an individual aeeountable for their actions? ‘Why is our community divided in even understanding the inyportance of this trial and being upset, regardless ofrace? How do L answer their questions? How will you? ‘Today, at this very moment | have more questions than answers, mone shame than pride and more disappointment than approval, What I do know is we have to find a method to address these wrongs, wo matter what Our plan it ‘must be done 40 in a peaceful manner with a common goal of finding justice in what appears to bea large injustice. ‘We must tke the measures 10 envure a safe and ¥ecure ewvironment bul equally important we ‘must work together to hold people accountable and ensure our community, our city, our officers and our judicial system is free from racism and treats matters fairly, | have just as many questions as everyone else in this community should have, if you don't question what is going on in our city you may want to consider yourself part af the problem.
