On an IBM compatible PC
Fig 1
Install
Clicking INSTALL will start the process of copying the software to your hard drive (see Fig 2), this
will take 5 15 minutes depending on the computers configuration. When the installation of the
software is complete (see Fig 3), a shortcut will automatically be created on your Desktop. You will
now be able to access this software from this shortcut. You can now remove the CD/DVD from your
CD/DVD drive.
Fig 2 Fig 3
The INSTALL function only copies the CD/DVDs data to your hard disk drive in the C:\EPIWB
location. In this location, you will find all of our software which you may have installed over time.

C:\EPIWB\PT4 location (see Fig 5), thus removing all of the contents of the relative folder. Click on
the prompt if you are certain that you wish to proceed with the deletion of the relative folder.
Fig 4 Fig 5
If the aforementioned prompt (see Fig 5) displays on screen and it is the first time you have used
this CD/DVD, it means that the path C:\EPIWB\PT4 is already in use and that you already have data
stored in this location. In order to proceed with the installation of our software you are advised to
change the location of your stored data as the relative path is reserved for the installation of our
software. If again, you are certain that you no longer require the data that is currently stored in this
location, click to proceed with the removal of the data in order to install our software.
Autoplay
Clicking AUTOPLAY will run the software directly from the CD/DVD.
On a Mac OS
When you insert the DVD into your drive, an icon will appear on your desktop with the name PT4.
If you click it, the contents of the DVD will appear in a browser window. Click the PT4.app file

Task types and how to complete them
The Prime Time 4 IWB is designed as a teaching aid to be used in conjunction with the
coursebook and for this reason the content is identical. However, in order to do the exercises, you
will have to carry out three basic computer actions clicking, clicking and dragging and typing.
Here is an overview of the types of tasks in this software and how to do them:
Clicking
In all tasks with fixed answers, such as multiple choice, gap-filling, ticking, circling, matching and
so on, apart from the ability of the user to select the correct answer manually by clicking on the
correct choice itself, there is the additional option of a button which is present on the left or the
right of the question . This is called the SHOW KEY button and it reveals the correct answer
automatically on clicking (see Fig 69). Clicking is also used in pronunciation tasks. Click on the
HEADPHONES next to each item to activate the audio (see Fig 70).
Fig 69 Fig 70
When a SHOW KEY button is in the form of , this is to indicate that the corresponding answer
is a suggested one only and that there can be many variations. Answers can be revealed globally
or individually. Clicking on the SHOW KEY button in the rubric will reveal all the answers related
to the task. Alternatively, click on the individual buttons within the exercise to reveal the answers
individually. All the answers that the SHOW KEY buttons reveal can be made to disappear again
by clicking the button once more.

In tasks with , the words will be revealed if you click the button (see Fig 71 & 72).

In most reading comprehension tasks, based on the reading text, the texts will be revealed if you click
the SHOW TEXT button .A button may also appear for each question (see Fig 74). On clicking
the button, the part of the text that contains the answer to the specific question is underlined in
the text (see Fig 75).

Express Publishing 24
In tasks where students are asked to guess what the correct answer is, simply click on your choice
(see Fig 76). At this stage, the answers are not provided. When you move to the next screen, the
selection from the previous screen carries over. Once you have listened to the dialogue, click
to show which statements were guessed correctly and which were not (see Fig 77).

In many listening exercises, a appears next to each item once the exercise is solved, providing
you with the underlying reference justifying the answer in the tape script (see Fig 78 & 79).

Some exercises give you additional help or information. These are in the form of button.

Clicking and dragging
To match any item (word, phrase, picture etc) to another, you simply click the item and drag it to
your chosen place (see Fig 80 & 81). If the answer is wrong, it will bounce back to its original position.
With the exception of listening exercises, these actions are accompanied by sound effects.

In listening exercises, there is a simple AUDIO PLAYER (see Fig 82 & 83). All its buttons are
activated by clicking or clicking and dragging (see Fig 84).

You will come across vocabulary and grammar tasks where you are able to type in your answer
manually. To type in your answer, click in your chosen field using your mouse and type in your answer
using your PCs keyboard, adding punctuation where necessary. The button will remain gray
until you have reached the last unsolved field (see Fig 85). The button will activate when you start to
type in your last answer (see Fig 86).
Fig 85 Fig 86
When you have finished typing in your answers, click the button. This will reveal which
answers you have answered correctly, indicated with a green tick and which ones you have
not, indicated with a red cross . You can edit your answers at any time (see Fig 87). NOTE: If
any of your answers have been made to appear with the SHOW KEY button then the CHECK
button will not be activated.

Using Note Exporter on an IBM compatible PC
As you save notes while using the Prime Time 4 IWB Software, you may wish to share them with

function is only available for systems that are using the same software and that for Note Exporter
to function correctly, you need to have saved at least one set of whiteboard notes.
