This image of the three
characters is effective to have
on the main body of the poster
as it shows off the comedic side
to the show as all three
characters are pulling the same
silly face. This shows that this is
a humorous film and has not
got a serious tone.
The colour of the title also
helps it stand out from the
background which is dark and
almost black.
The coffins and clothing of the
characters are used to mock the
gothic horror cliche of things
being gloomy and dark hence
the vampire theme.
The bold titles stand out and
appeal to the audience to
draw them in.
The other text features the
phrase from the creator of
which is usually followed by
a popular film or tv show
title to entice the reader and
make them want to see the
film.
Conclusion
This poster of the mockumentary What We Do in The Shadows has a lot of
conventions of a movie poster and a documentary poster such as the bold title,
characters and theme. These are the sort of things i would like to incorporate into
a poster for my mockumentary too as it will help attract the viewers and make
them watch it. I will look to use a bold title and make sure there is a football theme
present on my poster to ensure the viewer that they are watching a football
mockumentary. There will also have to be elements of humour on the poster
whether it will be some characters pulling faces or the body language of some
characters.
