LAGUNDINO, DIANA JANE T. Sarrat National High School, Sarrat, Ilocos Norte. January,
2017. Enhancing the Students Comprehension on DNA Replication and Transcription
Through the Use of Strategic Intervention Material.

This action research aimed to enhance the students comprehension on DNA Replication

and Transcription through the use of Strategic Intervention Material (The Blueprint of Life). It was

conducted at Sarrat National High School, Sarrat, Ilocos Norte to 32 Grade Ten Saturn. This

Pretest-Posttest Experimental Design study made use of a researcher made pretest/posttest

question to gather the needed data. The students scores in the pretest and posttest were tabulated

and analyzed using frequency distribution and weighted mean. T-test for two independent samples

was used to find if there is a significant difference between the mean of the pretest and posttest.

Results show that the use of Strategic Intervention Material titled The Blueprint of Life is

effective in enhancing students comprehension on DNA Replication and Transcription. When the

SIM is used in teaching Science, the students becomes interested in accomplishing the activities

because they can do it at their own convenient time. It is therefore strongly recommended that the

SIM should be used in teaching the concept on DNA Replication and Transcription to the Grade

10 students..
