‘The undersigned A fiant, being a Peace Officer under the laws of Texas and being duly swom, on oath makes the
following statements and accusations:
My name is Jesus Tamayo, Lama Hispanic male, 52 years of age. [ am employed by the Beaumont
Police Department and have been for the past 22 years. Lam currently assigned to the Criminal
Investigations Division as a Detective Sergeant.
1. IT IS THE BELIEF OF THIS AFFIANT, AND HE HEREBY CHARGES AND ACCUSES THAT:
COLEMAN, BRANDON JULIAN b/m DOB: 06-02-91, with last known address of 3725 W. Lynwood, Beaumont,
TX 77703, has committed the offense of CAPITAL MURDER, 19.03(a)(2) PC, 2 1* degree felony, that occurred
(on or about the 24** day of June, 2017, in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas.
2. AFFIANT HAS PROBABLE CAUSE FOR SAID BELIEF BY REASON OF THE FOLLOWING
FACTS:
(On Saturday, June 24, 2017, at approximately 6:20 pm, Beaumont Police officers responded to 5360 Pine
Street, (Collier’s Ferry Park), in reference to a deceased white female, Upon officers” arrival, they discovered the
partially nude body of a white female, with her hands bound behind her back, The decedent was found in the parking
Tot ofthe park and there were obvious signs ofa sexual assault. The deceased was identified, through her fingecprints,
as CATHERINE JANE DUNGAN dob: 03-01-63. Dungan's fingerprints were on file at the Beaumont Police
Department. According to Pathologist Dr. A. Murphy, Dungan’s preliminary autopsy report showed Dungan died as
a result of Manual Asphyxiation, and the manner of death, Homicide.
‘A witness at the park, identified as E. Gay, stated she saw a small vehicle, silver in color, atthe scene moments
prior to the body being discovered. Investigators later learned, from store video at 1316 Calder (Calder Food Mart),
the decedent had been seen getting into the same above described vehicle, Investigators received this video from the
custodian of records at this store. Store video surveillance shows Dungan getting into a small, silver color, vehicle, This
vehicle was later identified as 2 2005 Ford Focus, silver in color, bearing TXLP DRK-4184, This vehicle retumed to
Coleman's mother. An eyewitness, identified as A. Williams, stated he observed Dungan get into this car shorly after
he got out ofthe same silver car.
‘An employce at the Valero gas station located at 310 S. MLK, E. Key, stated she observed victim Dungan
getting into a small, silver color, vehicle, occupied by a black male subject driver. Key described the driver of the silver
vehicle as being in his late 20's, 5106", stocky, small Afro, medium to dark skin. A Tant obtained a sworn statement from
A. Williams who positively identified defendant Coleman through a photo line-up, as the person who he observed drive
off with Dungan prior to her death, Williams further positively identified Coleman’s vehicle, asthe same vehicle that
drove away with Dungan. A\fiant has reason to belicve and docs belicve defendant Coleman isthe person responsible
for Dungan’s death,
WHEREFORE, Affiant respectfully requests for issuance of an arrest warrant that will authorize him to arrest the
above described person.
