Lesson idea implementation: This Gizmo interactive game that I will be utilizing in my classroom will help
students work towards proficiency in writing and understanding electron configurations (see applicable
standard above). It will be used as a study tool. The game allows students to practice filling orbitals as they
learn about atomic orbital theory. It allows students to test their knowledge for any known element and
allows them to continue trying until they are successful. The site also shows students a Bohr molecule for the
configuration they construct and will plot the atomic radii for each element they make a configuration for
allowing students to the graphical relation between radii size and electron configuration.
