to participate in the building of
the post-war petrochemical
construction boom.
Our client has started as an industrial
construction company with a client base
of local industrial and municipal power
plants. In a post WWII environment, the
business flourished. In the late 60s and
70s, the company became an international
operation that spanned the globe. Soon, it
was working on major projects in the US,
Africa, Central and South America and
places around the world. From designing
Sugar Plants in Sudan, growing Rose
farms in Kenya, to conducting feasibility
studies in Russia.

case study.) In 2008 the U.S. Military had to expand and replace
four vital power plants in Iraq and BusinessCom client has
answered the call. With over five years experience in Iraq, the
company had the experience to fast track a complete design, build
project to deliver over 150 MWs of power and 40 miles of
distribution facilities.
The company has recently completed one of its toughest projects
with respect to operating conditions in years at Duar Sudan.
Climate and security were daunting enough, but long logistical
lines that included airlifts and hauling of fill material for over 200
Kms one-way created stressed supply routes.

recreational applications such as P2P as well as malware, was
saturating our clients satellite uplinks. Deploying BusinessCom
Sentinel bandwidth management servers, along with Managed
Sentinel Support service, has helped to solve the problems and
restored quality of service at clients remote offices around the
world.

Not only is BusinessCom providing a complete bandwidth and
traffic management solution, the Sentinel D2 servers are managed
remotely by BusinessCom NOC engineers. With remote
management support, BusinessCom provides consultative
services for ongoing deployment and configuration of Sentinel
servers, helping our client to maximize local network
performance and optimizing bandwidth and traffic flows to and
from remote sites. This includes QoS, bandwidth management
and optimization practices, network configuration, monitoring
and security, unsolicited traffic management and more.
BusinessCom assigned a dedicated Computer Systems Engineer
(CSE) in order to provide discrete technical support to our client.
BusinessCom CSE will maintain records and in-depth knowledge
of our clients network environment and business objectives to
quickly align service resources and provide escalations to
management. Technical support includes access to software
upgrades, 24/7 telephone and IM contacts, remote annual
health check, remote management and immediate replacement
warranty for selected hardware.
Deploying highly effective networks
While the BusinessCom Sentinel Managed support service is of value in high
speed terrestrial networks, the true value is appreciated when connectivity costs
are expensive or in short supply, such as is the case in broadband satellite
services. Unlike fiber, a one-time sunk cost, over which more and more traffic
can be run as technology improves, satellites are a renewable transport that must
be replaced every 10 15 years, and this keeps satellite services more expensive
than terrestrial services. BusinessComs Sentinel support service maximizes and
optimizes the use of this critical information pipe, providing performance gains
and prioritizing critical traffic.
Sites using satellite services tend to be in isolated or rural locations where IT
support is in short supply. These sites however, often require a dependable service
and 24/7 readiness and support for what may be mission-critical or even life
