CLUSTER INNOVATION CENTRE (CIC)

Q.1 What is Cluster Innovation Centre?

Ans. Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) is an institute set up by the University of Delhi with the objective of
fostering an ecosystem of innovation and connecting research with application for the benefit of society. The
aim of the CIC is to support application oriented research to solve real world problems by developing ideas into
innovative applications successfully.

Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) fosters an environment of innovation and facilitates collaborations and
partnerships with industry, academia and other segments of society.

Q.2 How many courses are conducted by Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) in the University of Delhi?

Ans. There are three courses which are offered by Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) in University of Delhi:

B. Tech /B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T.


B. Tech Humanities ( under Meta College Concept)
Master of Mathematics Education

B. Tech /B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T.

Q.1 What are the minimum eligibility criteria for taking admission in B. Tech /B.S. Innovation in
Mathematics and I.T. in University of Delhi?

Ans. The eligibility criteria for admission in B. Tech/B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T. are as follows:

Candidate must have the Leaving Certificate (Class XII or equivalent) from the respective school. Also
a minimum aggregate of 60% in four subjects (including mathematics) for candidates belonging to
General Category; 54% in four subjects (including mathematics) for candidates belonging to OBC
category; 55% in four subjects (including mathematics) for candidates belonging to PH category and
passing marks for candidates belonging to SC/ST category.
He/ She shall be currently enrolled in any of the regular Full-Time Programme of study in the
University of Delhi.
Candidate must have studied Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level.

Q.2 What is the procedure for taking admission in B. Tech/B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T.
Course in University of Delhi?

Ans. The admission in B. Tech/B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T. course comprises of two steps which
are as follows:

A Written Test consisting of multiple choice questions of two hours duration.


Interview for the short-listed candidates

The weightage for the written examination 75%


Interview- 25%
Q.3 How many seats are available for B. Tech/B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T. Course in
University of Delhi?

Ans. There are forty (40) seats available for this course and Reservation shall be given as per the norms laid
down by the University of Delhi.

Note: Seats are subject to change by the University of Delhi.

Q.4 From where can one obtain the application form for B. Tech/B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and
I.T. course in University of Delhi?

Ans. The candidate can download the application form from the website of University of Delhi i.e.
www.du.ac.in or from the website of Cluster Innovation Centre i.e. http://cic.du.ac.in . One can also collect the
form from the office of Cluster Innovation Centre, 3rd Floor, University Stadium, G C Narang Road,
University of Delhi, Delhi-110007.

Q.5 When can one collect the form for B. Tech/BS Innovation with Mathematics and IT course in the
University of Delhi?

Ans. The form for this course is generally available during the month of June/July every year as per the
notification by the University of Delhi. For further information one is advised to visit the official website of
University of Delhi i.e. http://www.du.ac.in

Q.6 Can a student also apply for B. Tech/BS Innovation with Mathematics and IT course under Cluster
Innovation Centre if he/she is pursuing his/her degree in 2nd year from the University of Delhi?

Ans. Yes, a student can apply for this course at Cluster Innovation Centre, if he / she is pursuing 2nd year regular
degree course from the University of Delhi.

Q.7 Can the students who have already enrolled in 1st year of Non-Collegiate Womens Education Board
(NCWEB) or in the School of Open Learning (SOL) apply for B. Tech/B.S. Innovation with Mathematics
and I.T. course?

Ans. No, students already enrolled in 1st year of Non-Collegiate Womens Education Board (NCWEB) or in the
School of Open Learning (SOL) cannot apply in the B.Tech/B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T. course.
Only regular students can apply to this course.

Q.8 Can students of Arts and Commerce (class XII) having Mathematics and English as their subjects
apply for the B. Tech/B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T. course?

Ans. Yes, a student of Arts/Commerce having Mathematics and English can apply in the B. Tech/B.S.
Innovation with Mathematics and I.T. course on the condition that he/she fulfills the eligibility criteria as laid
down by the Cluster Innovation Centre.

Q.9 What is the fee structure for B. Tech/B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T. course in University
of Delhi?
Ans. The fee for B. Tech/B.S. Innovation with Mathematics and I.T. course per Semester is Rs.5000/- and
Rs.1000/- which is refundable (Library Security) one time.
