Bush's arrival symbolizes the steadfast cooperation between the Israeli Defense Force and the Service .

The arrival marked the first time a U.S. aircraft carrier visited an Israeli port since USS Dwight
D.Eisenhower (CVN 69) in April 2000.
Bush's operations in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea demonstrate the capability to conduct
precision strikes on ISIS targets from multiple theaters, highlighting the flexibility of the globally
deployed force. Strengthening partnerships during port visits demonstrates our shared
commitment to promoting security and stability throughout the region.
George H.W. Bush is 333 meters long and capable of supporting upwards of 5,000 personnel,
including ship's company, the carrier air wing, and embarked staff.
U.S. Naval Forces Europe/U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full
spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied, joint, and interagency
partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and
Africa.
