PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
CONTENT:
1. Knowing Oneself
Understanding oneself during middle and late adolescence

Content Standard:
The learners demonstrate are understanding of himself/herself during middle and late
adolescence

Performance Standard:
The learners shall be able to conduct self-exploration and simple disclosure

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
At the end of this chapter, the student should be able to:

1. Compare various definition of self;


2. examine critically the different components that form ones personality;
3. conduct a simple disclosure

DURATION: Two (2) Hours

MATERIALS:
Television

Chapter 2: Knowing One self

PRIMING ACTIVITY:
1. Checking of attendance
2. Motivation - Contest of simple brain teaser (simple gift will be given to those who can
guess the right answer)

ACTIVITY:
Watch the video: Who am I? Think Again by Hetain Patels talk
Tell the student to carefully watch and listen to the speakers.

ANALYSIS:
1. Why is the speaker seating in such way?
2. What did you notice on the way the man talk?
3. Do you find him weird / odd? Why?
4. Why do think is acting in such a while talking to his audience?
5. What do you think he is trying to convey?
6. What does he said about knowing ones self?
7. What is his advice on knowing ones self?

ABSTRACTION:
1. In the video, what is the nationality of the speaker?
2. What are the basis of your answer?
3. What is Self? What are different point of views regarding the definition of Self?
4. What is personality?
5. What form our personality? Explain how personality is formed?
6. What is the relationship of heredity and environment to your personality?
7. What are instances we use our personality?
8. Why is important to determine your personality?

APPLICATION
Group with your friends and brainstorm your individual qualities. After determining your
qualities choose one that is the best about you. The group will then make a mnemonic as the
name of your group using the quality of each group members. Present the group work through a
cheer chant with dance.

ASSIGNMENT

Go to this site http://www.truity.com/personality-test and take the Myers-Briggs Personality Test


Print or write on your notebook the result of the test. Tell if the results is truly your personality.
Submit the 2nd letter to your self.

2. express that knowing oneself can make a person accept his or her strengths and
limitations, and deal with others better;
3. connect real life situation with the result of the personality test;
4. realize the importance of this scientific personality test in their life;
5. answer questions of past and present lessons.

DURATION: Two (2) Hours

ACTIVITY:
Sharing of the result of the personality test, they took on the website given to them.

ANALYSIS:
1. What can you say questions in the test?
2. Is it difficult to answer? Explain.
3. What can you say about your result?
4. Do you believe on the result of the test?

ABSTRACTION:
1. What is personality?
2. What are different scientifically proven personality tests?
3. How are these test be helpful in your self-awareness?
4. How will this personality test help you determine who you are?
5. Does the result match with the personal assessment of yourself?
6. Explain how this test will help you in real life situation.
