awarded the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan, by the President of
India, is the driving force behind the school.
An alumnus of the prestigious Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls Public
School, Dr Chona has broken barriers to change the lives of many.
She has launched major initiatives to promote the teaching of
Science, Computers and Information Technology in schools.

Dear Ms. Malhotra,
I am writing with regard to the special Open House which took place on
September 20, 2014 (Sat.). I attended two sessions. One in the morning
organized by my older son, Svarit Mathur Chankravarthys class - Grade 2,
Doves, and late in the morning by my younger son, Manan Mathur Chakravar-
thys class - Prep, Sweetpeas. I really enjoyed participating in both the sessions,
and appreciate the teachers efforts in putting together insightful presentations.
creative & innovative ways and approach to teaching. Imparting early childhood
education is a very delicate responsibility, and it was reassuring to see how im-
aginative and interactive teaching methods are deployed to stimulate the fertile
and creative minds of the children.
Thank you for acquainting us parents with some of your classroom activities
through visuals such as photos and videos. They provided valuable and precious
windows into our childrens exposure at school. In the Grade 2 presentation, we
were included in some of the exercises that our children already experienced.
They were particularly helpful in making us aware of how our children are taught.
In the session conducted by Prep, we were educated about the creative reading
strategies introduced to our children especially through the use of stories. This
knowledge was needed for us to work in tandem with those teaching methods.
I look forward to more of such sessions in the future. And I hope such multidi-
mensional and hands-on methodologies and approach to teaching continue to
flourish in the school as I I feel they are essential in order to cater to each childs
uniqueness in the way he/she processes information. I wish you and the teach-
ers my very best in creating and maintaining a safe learning environment for
children where they are treated with equal respect, and each childs strengths
and potential are nurtured with sensitivity and compassion.
