News Release

Sheriff Lavender reports that on 07/4/2017 at approximately 2:59 p.m. his office received
a call that there had been a shooting in the 800 block of Rapid forge Road. The victim
was taken to Greenfield Medical Center.

Deputies and Detectives responded and learned that a Jeffrey Ryan Holsinger ( D.O.B.
11-21-1985; S.S.N. 275-34-6671) was responsible for the shooting and had stolen a green
1997 Saturn from the victim. Law enforcement in Ohio was notified of this incident and
to be on the look out for Jeffrey Ryan Holsinger.

At approximately 7:47 p.m. the Sheriffs Office received another call stating that there
had been a shooting in the 400 block of Browns Chapel Road. This shooting resulted in
the death of the victim. Witnesses at the scene identified the shooter as Jeffrey Ryan
Holsinger.

He was last reported driving a stolen black Cadillac with Florida license plate ELFD49;
law enforcement observed the stolen black Cadillac in Washington Court house but lost
sight of the vehicle after a short pursuit. It was located on 70 East bound in Madison
County. It was followed into Franklin County where law enforcement took Jeffrey Ryan
Holsinger into custody.

Sheriff Lavender would like to express his thanks to his staff for their work during this
emergency. Sheriff Lavender also thanks Washington Courthouse Police Department;
Fayette; Maadison; and Franklin County Sheriffs offices; Columbus Police Department;
and the Ohio State Highway Patrol for their efforts in bringing this situation to a safe
conclusion.
