At the end of the lesson 100% of the students should be able to attain at least 75% level of proficiency to:
discusses various forms of health service providers and healthcare plans; and
selects health professionals, specialists and health care services wisely.

What is Health Information?
o It is the information that people require to make wise choices and decisions about their health or
the health of other people.
What is Health Products?
o The things that people buy to improve their health.
Give some examples of health products?
o Foods
o Drugs
o cosmetics
o Devices
o etc.

V. Lesson Proper:
Health Services - include all services dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of disease or the
promotion, maintenance and restoration of health.
Healthcare Provider - is a trained professional who provides people with healthcare.
Health Professionals
Physician records the medical history of the individuals, provides diagnoses, performs medical
examinations, and prescribes medication.

mental health issues.
o Pulmonologist someone who specializes in respiratory healthcare.
o Urologist someone who diagnose and treat diseases of the urinary tract in both men and
women and they also diagnose and treat anything involving the reproductive tract in men.

Healthcare practitioner is an independent healthcare provider who is licensed to practice on a specific


area of the body.
An allied health professionals is a trained healthcare provider who practices under the supervision of a
physician or healthcare practitioners.
