Consider a Cauchy infinite series for the Golden ratio using the product of
Fibonacci Numbers.

Leonhard Euler devised a method of turning an infinite series with

alternating plus and minus signs into a continued fraction. Below is
Theorem 1 from his classic work, On the Transformations of Infinite Series
to Continued Fractions.
To make it easier, I subtracted 1 from both sides of our equation. Using
Eulers continued fraction theorem, we insert all the denominators and
numerators into their appropriate slots in the continued fraction.

After solving the differences, we have the continued fraction below.

Upon inspection of the continued fraction it becomes clear that the
denominators (1, 1, 4, 9, 25, 64, 169) are squared Fibonacci numbers. It
also becomes clear that the numerator base numbers (1,2,6,15,40,104)
comprise the areas of the golden rectangle (sum of squares of Fibonacci
numbers). We will reflect these truths in the continued fraction.

Finally, we add 1 on both sides to complete the continued fraction. Lo and

behold, a novel, yet elegant continued fraction of the golden ratio exists.
Computations in excel reveal an accuracy of 6 decimal places using the 15th
convergent.
