MISMATCHING OF TG DECK FOUNDATION WITH
TURBINE BOTTOM CASING MATTER RESOLVED
Turbine bottom casing with
mismatched sole plates
plates were built-up with weld
metal inorder to avoid oblong
holes. Among the three rear
right sole plate holes, one of
the bolt holes (in the mid) is
concentric with the turbine
casing hole. After completing
the modification in the sole
plate, the bolt hole of sole
plate had become excentric
with the casing hole. Hence it
was requisite to grind and
extend the bolt hole of rear
right casing leg to the extent misalignment of sleeves during
of lodging the nut of the stud

It was observed while while casting the deck
positioning the turbine bottom foundation. Hence, both the

to the required extent and
completed the alignment of

casing. Then the turbine rotor
has been placed on the casing
on 15/12/07. IBR and Non-
IBR piping works are under
