    INTRODUCTION
    Asastandardstatement,energyisdefinedasthepotentialtodowork.Likewise,theeffective
    functioningofanorganisationalsodemandssubstantialuseofelectricalenergy.Butsincethe
    conventionalsourcesforelectricitygenerationareeverdepleting,thereisagreatneedfora
    properenergymanagement.

    InIndia,thedemandcurveforelectricityisincreasingsteeplysincethepastfewdecadesand
    hence,energyauditingplaysavitalroleinbothenergyconservationaswellasincost
    conservationoftheorganisation.

    Energyauditingisaprocessofcheckinghowenergyisusedandidentifyingtheareaswhere
    wastagecanbeminimizedifnottotallyeradicated.Energyauditconsistsofseveraltaskswhich
    canbecarriedoutdependingonthetypeoftheauditandthefunctionoftheauditedfacility.It
    startswithareviewofthehistoricaldataonenergyconsumption,whichcanbecompiledfrom
    theelectricitybills.

    EducationalInstitutionsareoftenoverlookedasacontributortoenergyintensiveoperationsin
    Indiawithinthecommercialbuildingssector.Anenergycostisoneofthemanageablecosts
    withinaninstitutesbudgetandcanbemanagedeffectively.Resultantcostandenergysavings
    willgoalongwayinreducingenergyusewithinthesectorandprovidesavenuefor
    reinvestmentwithintheeducationalinstituteitself.

    2. Learningamethodicalapproachtocollectdataandanalysingit.
    3. ToestimatetheenergyconsumptioninEEEdept.GSSSIETW,Mysuru.
