Taking the helm at SAP ANZ


In July, Andrew Barkla took up the role of president and managing director
of SAP ANZ, left vacant by Tim Ebbeck earlier in the year. Barkla joined SAP
from senior regional roles at Unisys and PeopleSoft. He spoke with Freya
Purnell about whats on his agenda for the next 12 months, the challenges
ahead for SAP, and the role of the ecosystem in helping SAP ANZ double in
size by 2015.

Stream acquisition

Stream-ing ahead
SAP technology consultancy Stream was founded by chairman and innovation
director Gough Venter in 2004 with a focus on SAP NetWeaver. Since then,

encompass both consulting and technology services, with annual revenues
over $10 million and offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth. In
August 2012, Stream was acquired by UXC-owned SAP software and services
integrator Oxygen Business Solutions. Freya Purnell spoke to Venter, Gerber,
and Oxygen CEO Stuart Dickinson about the future for the company.
Freya Purnell: How did you grow the Stream business? the business in the ERP space. We knew the end goal was

I was hesitant to register at first because I heard people
say that its for technical people and you need to know
how to code. I am not very technical, nor do I know how
to code. There was also the issue of being on maternity
