Abstract:
In the north of Chile important events are occurring in mining, due to new innovations
in the matter of smelting and energy efficiency. The Copper Corporation (Codelco) has
set up a new concentrating plant integrated with a multipurpose smelter near the port
of Mejillones, whose purpose is to treat concentrates of greater complexity, which in
the other divisions could not be processed from an environmental or economic point of
view and At the same time, we obtain sub-products of high value, such as gold and
germanium. Therefore, in this work we address the operational problem of the daily
mass balance, in order to obtain the maximum production, so that positive results were
obtained. That the numbers are in the ranges of similar foundries of the north, only that
with the difference these concentrates are not able to be processed in any other part of
Chile.

cobre y molibdeno
