AN ORDINA~C!.G AMENDING REGULATION ORDINANCE NO. 2005-
067 SY MODIFYING THE TR1CYCLE ROUTE OF A"REVAt.O SUBURB

Ordinance No. 2005-067 entitled "An ordinance amending the motorcycle franchise
route of Villa lloilo City Tricycle Owners and Drivers Association (VICTODRAS, Inc.)
from its previous authorized routes that is from Sta. Felomina and Bonifacio Streets to
comer Sto. Nif1o Sur going to comer Sto. Nino Norte, ARevalo, lloilo City, into its
desif:ed new route, tluit is Anw~ Suburb vice wru .except in roads classified .as
ational highways. n

WHEREAS, a consultative meeting was held last May 31, 2017, together with the
two (2) associations, VICTODRAS and ICATODRAS and representatives from the
/ different .b.ar.aogay.s .in tbe D.i.stdc1 of Arevalo.. nojJo Cjty .rega.r.d.ing tbe p.ro,po.se.d
amendment in the tricycle route of Arevalo Suburb;

WHEREAS, the proposed amendment in the tricycle route of Arevalo Suburb,

aims to prevent tricycle drivers from traversing at national highways to ensure the safety
of the tricycle-for-hire and its passengers;

. WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 458 (a) paragraph 3 (vi) of Republic Act 7160
(The Local Government Code of 1991 ), to wit:

"(3) Subject to the provisions of Book II of this Code, enact ordinances granting
francffises and authorizing the Issuance of pemrits or licenses, upon sueh purposes
intended to promote the general welfare of the inhabitants of the city and pursuant to this
legislative authority shall:

(vi) Subject to the guidelines prescribed by the Department of Transportation and

Communication, regulate the operation of tricycles and grant franchises for the operation

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City

of lloilo, that:

Section 1. - The amended tricycle route of Arevalo Suburb will be read as follows~

AUTHORIZED AMENDED ROUTE:

"From Sta. Cruz Street to Sto. Niflo Sur going to Sto. Niflo
Norte until Calaparan Street, back to Sto. Niflo Norte to Yulo Drive,
passing Quezon Street to Bonifacio Street passing Figueroa and
Gaunco Streets, District of Arevalo, nono City and Vice versa""'

Section 2. - Except for the above stated amendment, all other provision of the
regulation ordinance shall remain valid and enforceable;

Section 3. - Attached herewith is -the sketeh of -the amended -trieycfe route 1hat
serves as an integral part of this ordinance;

Section 4. - This ordinance shall take effect ten (10) calendar days after
approval and publication in the newspaper of general circulation in the City of lloilo.
