the Great Rift Valley View Point for photos. The Rift Valley was formed millions of years ago.
Stretching some 5,000 miles from Jordan to Mozambique, its the largest Rift on Earth. In Kenya,
the rift gave rise to many lakes that have become a habitat for diverse wildlife. One such lake is
Lake Nakuru- a soda lake.

Famously Lake Nakuru attracts vast numbers of fabulously coloured pink flamingos to its shallow
waters. Hippo, various animals, black rhinos, giraffe, lion, leopards and a profusion of birds are
also present at the lake. Known all over the world for its flamingoes, it's alkaline and is recognized
as being one of the natural wonders of the world.

Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harboring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white
rhinos, but the flamingos, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times there may be
almost 2 million flamingos in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around
the edge of the lake shore. Arrive in time for lunch then have an afternoon game drive. Dinner and
overnight at Waterbuck Hotel (3 km outside the park) | Flamingo Hill Tented Camp | Lake

DAY 3: 17.09.17- LK. NAKURU- MASAI MARA- 5-6HRS- 340Km

After an early morning breakfast, we depart for Masai Mara via Lake NaivashaOptional 1
hour boat ride in the lake- extra cost US $ 35 PP)

Naivasha is a Masai name given to the area where the resort is located, denoting the characteristics of the
lake including size and its tendency to roughness when windy. The history of the area has always been
important as it formed the main route of the slave trade from Uganda and the highlands of Kenya, including
in 1884, the Scottish explorer Joseph Thompsons epic journey through Masai land where he writes in his
journals of his time in Naivasha

The highest of all the Rift Valley lakes, Lk. Naivasha is a beautiful shallow freshwater lake fringed by thick papyrus
reeds. The waters of the lake draw great array of bird life to its shoreline. Buffalo wallow in the swamps, whilst the large
hippo population laze their days in the shallows. Giraffe wander among the acacia, whilst the Colobus monkeys swing
from the green canopies above.

Ascending the western wall of the Great Rift Valley floor, we reach arguably Kenyas most
celebrated natural attraction-The Masai Mara game reserve. A 1,500 sq. km slab of open Savannah
dotted with acacia trees-the Kenyan section of the wildly beautiful Serengeti plains, teems with
wildlife. Being in the Mara has been described by some authorities as being in the New York of
the natural worldYou will spend the next 02nights here to explore.

The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450
species of animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles,
giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many
kinds of antelopes and elephant. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the
natural world takes place.

This is the annual wildlife migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti
(Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the
savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures. Afternoon game drive in the reserve.

The endless plains of East Africa are the setting of the Worlds greatest spectacle-the pounding of over 6 million
hooves! From the vast Serengeti plains to the Champagne coloured hills of Kenyas Masai Mara. Over 1
million wildebeest, 300,000 Thompson gazelles and some 200,000 zebras relentlessly tracked by Africas
greatest predators, migrate in a clockwise fashion over 1,800 miles each year in search of green pastures. This
continual perilous trek in search of natures big green carpet involves no beginning or end to a wildebeest
journey.

Its life is an endless pilgrimage, a continual search of food, water and pasture. The only beginning is at birth.
An estimated 400,000 wildebeest calves are born during a six week period early each year-usually between late
January and Mid March.

As for when to see this annual event, consider December to March (Serengeti) and July to October (Masai
Mara) The Mara offers wildlife in such variety and abundance that it is difficult to believe: over 450 species of
animals have been recorded here. You will easily see lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests,
zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephant. It
is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual
