THE ANGELIC HOST

General Queries
BA.GQ.01 – Q: What mountings do weapons on Blood Angels vehicles have?
A: As always, use the actual mounting of the weapon on the physical model to determine its field of view. However, a list of the default
mountings used by the stock, unconverted Citadel models is included at the end of this document for your convenience. [Clarification]
• By the strict letter of the rules, there is no provision to allow anything except stock, unconverted models.

Special Rules
BA.23.01 – Q: When a unit with “And They Shall Know No Fear” regroups at the start of their turn do they get the 3” move for
regrouping as well as their normal move?
A: No. A unit with “And They Shall Know No Fear” that regroups at the start of their turn may move normally instead of getting the 3”
move. [Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, a unit with “And They Shall Know No Fear” is permitted to make a 3” move as well as making their normal move.

BA.23.02 – Q: If a player declares that a unit is arriving from reserves inside a transport vehicle, can that unit be split into Combat Squads
when it arrives?
A: No. Other than a Drop Pod, a unit that arrives from Reserves in a vehicle cannot be split into Combat Squads. [R.a.W]

BA.23.03 – Q: Do multiple instances of “Descent of Angels” stack? In other words, does a model with a Jump Pack (which grants “Descent
of Angels”) and the “Descent of Angels” special rule not scatter when it Deep Strikes?
A: No. Multiple instances of “Descent of Angels” do not stack. [Clarification]
• The rule as written is unclear. You have a rule saying you scatter “D6” less” twice, so it can be argued that you would not scatter at all. Similarly, you can argue that once
you have reduced the scatter by D6” once, you have satisfied both instances of the rule (similar to the wording of Imperial Guard Astropaths or Tyranid Hive Tyrants).

BA.23.04 – Q: How does “Descent of Angels” interact with other special rules that increase or change the distance a unit scatters (for
example, a “Jamming Beacon” from Codex: Space Marines)?
A: The unit will simply roll one less D6 when determining the distance it scatters. For example, if a special rule causes a unit with “Descent of
Angels” to scatter 4D6”, they will instead scatter 3D6”. [R.a.W]

BA.23.05 – Q: Does a transport vehicle that arrives from reserves via “Deep Strike” with a unit with the “Descent of Angels” special rule
embarked upon it benefit from the “Descent of Angels” special rule?
A: No. Only units that are Deep Striking themselves and have the “Descent of Angels” Special Rule benefit. [Clarification]
• It can, however, be interpreted that the transport does benefit from the “Descent of Angels” special rule despite not having it itself.

BA.23.06 – Q: How does “The Red Thirst” affect units without the “And They Shall Know No Fear” special rule?
A: Models without “And They Shall Know No Fear” simply gain the special rules granted by “The Red Thirst” instead of replacing them for
“And They Shall Know No Fear”. [Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, it essentially does not have any effect, as there is no way for them to have the special rules granted by “The Red Thirst” instead of “And
They Shall Know No Fear” as they do not have “And They Shall Know No Fear” to begin with.

Veteran Squads
BA.27.01 – Q: When Sternguard Veterans fire their Boltguns, is using the “Special Issue Ammunition” optional?
A: No. Blood Angels Sternguard Veterans must always choose one of the options listed under “Special Issue Ammunition” and cannot fire the
normal Bolter profile. [R.a.W]

BA.27.02 – Q: How do “Hellfire Rounds” work against Vehicles?

A: They do not. [R.a.W]

BA.27.03 – Q: Do “Hellfire Rounds” re-roll to wound if the enemies Toughness is less than or equal to the Veterans Strength?
A: No. “Hellfire Rounds” cannot ever re-roll to wound by virtue of the “Poisoned” rule (though other rules may allow it to do so).
[Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, it will get to re-roll, similar to how Space Marine Hellfire Rounds and Shells did before the Space Marine Errata. Good Job GW.

BA.27.04 – Q: Does a unit of Vanguard Veterans benefit from “Heroic Intervention” when disembarking from a Stormraven Gunship via the
“Skies of Blood” special rule?
A: No. “Heroic Intervention” only applies if the Vanguard Veterans “arrive from reserve”. [R.a.W]
The Unofficial Codex: Blood Angels v1.9 by Gwar! Page 3

Dreadnoughts
BA.29.01 – Q: How do rules that require a Psyker's leadership (such as a “Psychic Hood”), affect a models leadership (e.g. a Necron Pariah's
“Soulless” rule) or cause psykers to take a leadership test (e.g. a Dark Eldar “Crucible of Malediction”) work against a
Furioso Librarian?
A: A Furioso Librarian counts as having a leadership value of 10 whenever it performs a psychic test or needs to reference it's leadership value
as a result of a psychic power being used (e.g. “Psychic Hoods”). Special rules that would change or reduce this leadership affect the Librarian
as if it were a non-vehicle Psyker (e.g. “Soulless”). Special rules that specifically affect psykers and that call for a leadership value use a
leadership value of 10, modified by any appropriate modifiers as if the Furioso Librarian were a non-vehicle psyker (e.g. “Crucible of
Malediction”). [Rules Change/Clarification]
• By the strict letter of the rules a Furioso Librarian is unusable as it never defines what “psychic purposes” are.

BA.29.02 – Q: When a Furioso Librarian uses a psychic shooting attack, is this done in addition to its normal ranged weapons or must he
replace the firing of one of these weapons to use the psychic shooting attack?
A: He must replace the firing of one of his weapons to use the Psychic Shooting attack. [R.a.W]

BA.29.03 – Q: Can a Furioso Librarian use a psychic shooting attack if he has suffered a damage result of “Crew - Shaken” or “Crew –
Stunned”, has used Smoke Launchers or is unable to fire a weapon for some other reason?
A: No. [R.a.W]

BA.29.04 – Q: If a Furioso Librarian has no ranged weapons left, can he still use a Psychic Shooting attack?
A: Yes. [Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, he must “replace the firing of any of the weapons he is allowed to fire with a psychic shooting attack.” This means if he has no weapons
that can fire due to them being destroyed, he cannot use a Psychic Shooting attack.

BA.29.05 – Q: If a Furioso Librarian suffers a Perils of the Warp and the resulting glancing hit causes a “Damaged – Weapon Destroyed”
result, which player chooses the weapon to be destroyed?
A: The Blood Angels player, as they are the one who “attacked” the Dreadnought. [R.a.W]

Drop Pods
BA.32.01 – Q: When a player deploys a Drop Pod can he choose to keep the doors open or closed? If the Drop Pod doors are deployed
open can models deploy within 2” of them?
A: Once the Drop Pod lands, the doors remain open for the rest of the game. However, all measurements to and from the Drop Pod, besides
firing its weapon, are done based on the hull of the Drop Pod (its shape when the doors are closed). This means, for example, that friendly
and enemy models will be able to move on top of the open doors. [Clarification]

If the doors cannot be opened (they are glued in place or a player is using a model that doesn’t have doors that open/has a solid core), both
players must agree before the game to either pretend, to the best of their abilities, that the doors are open and both players can see “through”
the core for line of sight purposes, or they can play that the model blocks line of sight “as is” in which case the Space Marine player will be
unable to fire the Drop Pod’s weapon (a trade-off for the improved line of sight blocking ability of the model). [Rules Change]
• The above rulings are made in the interests of “fair play”. There is technically no provision to use anything except stock models. Coupled with the lack of clarification as
to what constitutes its hull, leads to a myriad of utter catastrophe.

BA.32.02 – Q: Does a Blood Angel Drop Pod's “Inertial Guidance System” special rule work if its scatter would take it off the table?
A: No. In this case the Drop Pod suffers a Deep Strike Mishap. Make a single roll on the Deep Strike Mishap table for both the Pod and the
embarked unit combined. [R.a.W]

Rhinos
BA.34.01 – Q: Can Blood Angel Rhinos carry allied Grey Knights Terminators and/or other allies in Terminator Armour ?
A: No. [Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, Grey Knights Terminators and other allies in Terminator Armour have no restriction on what transports they may embark on (unlike
Blood Angels Terminators). Furthermore, Blood Angels Rhinos and Razorbacks have no prohibition on allowing Terminators to embark upon them (it is, instead, a
prohibition of the Blood Angels Terminator Armour itself). Thus, as written, Grey Knights Terminators and other allies in Terminator Armour may embark upon the
Rhino or Razorback, each model counting as a single model (as, again, "Takes up two spaces" is not a characteristic of Dæmonhunters Terminator Armour).

Razorbacks
BA.35.01 – Q: Can Blood Angel Razorbacks carry allied Grey Knights Terminators and/or other allies in Terminator Armour ?
The Unofficial Codex: Blood Angels v1.9 by Gwar! Page 4

Land Raiders
BA.37.01 – Q: Does the “Power of the Machine Spirit” allow a weapon that has already been fired that shooting phase to fire a second time?
A: No. It does not let you ignore the normal rules for shooting a weapon (i.e. you cannot normally shoot a weapon twice), so you cannot.
[R.a.W]

BA.37.02 – Q: Does the “Power of the Machine Spirit” allow a weapon to be fired on the same turn a Land Raider uses Smoke Launchers?
A: No. [Clarification]
• The wording is ambiguous enough for an interpretation that allows the Land Raider to shoot. The ruling above is a case of applying the more restrictive alternative given
a truly ambiguous situation.

Stormraven Gunship
Note: The following assumes that a Stormraven Gunship will be of similar size to a Imperial Guard Valkyrie model and mounted on a
similar base, as there is currently no model for the Stormraven Gunship.

BA.38.01 – Q: What exactly is considered part of the hull on a Stormraven Gunship?

A: As no model has been released by Games Workshop as of yet, the closest analogue being the Thunderhawk Transporter model from Forge
World, it is imperative to define what parts of the model are Hull before the game begins. [Clarification/Rules Change]
• Of course, by the strict letter of the rules, scratch built and converted models are not permitted to be used in a game of Warhammer 40,000, thus the above
[Clarification/Rules Change].

BA.38.02 – Q: What part of a Stormraven Gunship model needs to be in or on terrain in order for it to count as being in or on the terrain?
A: While the Stormraven Gunship is on its base, only if the base is actually in or on the terrain would the model count as being in or on the
terrain (unless both players agree otherwise). [Clarification]
• The rules are unclear as to how you determine if a Skimmer is inside Terrain, thus the above [Clarification].

BA.38.03 – Q: Can a Stormraven Gunship end its movement over other models and can other models end their move underneath it?
A: As long as a Stormraven Gunship doesn't end its move with its base on top of any model or within 1” of any enemies, it is fine to have
portions of the Stormraven Gunship end up over other models, provided they physically fit underneath the Stormraven Gunship model .
[Clarification]
• The rules as written do not explicitly cover this situation. The above ruling is thus inferred.

BA.38.04 – Q: If a Stormraven Gunship is immobilized or destroyed while over other models, what happens?
A: Use the following guidelines: [Rules Change]
Immobilized – Adjust the Stormraven Gunship the minimum distance needed to place the model on the table but not over any
friendly models, within 1" of any enemies, or in impassable terrain (although it may end up on top of impassable
terrain if the model will fit there). Do not turn the model, unless it is absolutely necessary for it to fit on the table, and
only then by the minimum required.

Wrecked – Disembark any passengers as normal. Then adjust the model (as described in the immobilized guidelines above)
before marking it as a wreck.

Explodes – Resolved normally (with surviving passengers being placed within the hull “footprint” of where the vehicle was).
• By the strict letter of the rules, there are no rules to cover this situation and the game breaks, thus making it a [Rules Change].

BA.38.05 – Q: If a Stormraven Gunship with a unit embarked upon it suffers a “Destroyed – Wrecked” result on the Vehicle Damage Table
and there are enemy models in base contact with who also completely surround its base, are all passengers on-board killed?
A: Only if it is impossible to place even a single model within 2” of the base and not within 1” of an enemy model. [R.a.W]

BA.38.06 – Q: When a Stormraven Gunship is immobilized (i.e. off its base) can other models move under its wings at all?
A: Friendly models are able to move under the wings provided they can physically fit there. Enemy models may also move under the wings
provided they physically fit there and don't move so their base is within 1” of the hull. [Clarification]
• The rules as written do not explicitly cover this situation. The above ruling is thus inferred.

BA.38.07 – Q: Can an enemy tank ram a Stormraven Gunship that is on its base?
A: Yes, treat the Stormraven Gunship's base as part of its hull for this purpose. [Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, a Stormraven Gunship on a “Valkyrie base” cannot be rammed, as you will be unable to contact the hull.

BA.38.08 – Q: How are template weapons resolved against a Stormraven Gunship?

A: Unless specified otherwise, the firing player holds the template over the top of the Stormraven Gunship so that the small tip is touching the
firer's base (or the weapon barrel for a firing vehicle), but only from a “top-down” (two-dimensional) standpoint, similar to how templates are
held over ruins (see page 85 of the rulebook). [Clarification/Rules Change]
• The rules as written do not explicitly cover this situation. The above ruling is thus inferred.

BA.38.09 – Q: Can a Stormraven Gunship which does not move or moves at Combat Speed fire multiple Bloodstrike Missiles?
A: Yes. [R.a.W]
The Unofficial Codex: Blood Angels v1.9 by Gwar! Page 5

Stormraven Gunship (Cont.)

BA.38.10 – Q: Does “Ceramite Plating” work against a Witch Hunters “Infernus Pistol”?
A: No. A Witch Hunters “Infernus Pistol”, while following very similar rules to melta weapons, does not have the “Melta” weapon type, so is
not affected by Ceramite Plating. [R.a.W]

BA.38.11 – Q: Is a Stormraven Gunship able to carry more than one Dreadnought?

A: No. [R.a.W]

BA.38.12 – Q: The Stormraven Gunship states it can carry “a single Dreadnought”. Does this mean that Death Company Dreadnoughts and
Furioso Dreadnoughts cannot be carried?
A: No. Any type of Dreadnought may be carried by the Stormraven Gunship. [Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, only the unit named “Dreadnought” may be carried. Other kinds of Dreadnought may not be carried.
BA.38.13 – Q: Can a Stormraven Gunship arrive from reserves via the “Deep Strike” special rule while transporting an embarked unit that
doesn't have the “Deep Strike” special rule?
A: Yes. [R.a.W]

BA.38.14 – Q: Does the “Power of the Machine Spirit” allow a weapon that has already been fired that shooting phase to fire a second time?
A: No. It does not let you ignore the normal rules for shooting a weapon (i.e. you cannot normally shoot a weapon twice), so you cannot.
[R.a.W]

BA.38.15 – Q: Does the “Power of the Machine Spirit” allow a Stormraven Gunship to fire a weapon after it has moved flat out?
A: No. [Clarification]
• The wording for moving Flat Out is identical to that of Smoke Launchers. Thus, the wording is ambiguous enough for an interpretation that allows the Stormraven
Gunship to shoot. The ruling above is a case of applying the more restrictive alternative given a truly ambiguous situation.

BA.38.16 – Q: How many Bloodstrike Missiles can be fired at a secondary target with the “Power of the Machine Spirit”?
A: One. [R.a.W]

Techmarines
BA.39.01 – Q: Can a Techmarine attempt to use his “Blessing of the Omnissiah” special rule to repair a vehicle he is embarked upon?
A: No. Embarked is not the same as being in “base contact”. [R.a.W]

BA.39.02 – Q: If a Techmarine, due to Servitors with servo-arms and/or a servo-harness, has a +4 or greater modifier to the roll granted by
“Blessing of the Omnissiah” does this mean he always rolls “a result of 5 or more” when attempting to repair a vehicle?
A: Yes. In this case, he will always be successful, as a roll of one is not an automatic failure. [R.a.W]

BA.39.03 – Q: Can a Techmarine in contact with multiple damaged vehicles attempt to fix them all in the same Shooting phase?
A: No. In this case he may only attempt to repair a single vehicle. [Clarification]
• The rules as written do not explicitly cover this situation. The above ruling is thus inferred.

BA.39.04 – Q: Can a Servo-arm's extra attack be used the same phase a Techmarine uses another Special Close Combat Weapon?
A: Yes. [Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, in order to use the Servo-arm attack, he would have to give up the special close combat weapon attacks and visa versa.

Captain Tycho
BA.41.01 – Q: “Special Issue Ammunition” states that only when “a Sternguard Veteran squad fires” that the player gets to choose an
ammunition type. Does this mean Captain Tycho can never use the “Special Issue Ammunition”?
A: No. Captain Tycho is awesome and well 'ard (albeit ugly) and can use the “Special Issue Ammunition” as though he were a Sternguard
Veteran. [Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, Captain Tycho can never use Special Issue Ammunition as he is not a Sternguard Veteran.

BA.41.02 – Q: When Captain Tycho fires the Boltgun half of “Blood Song”, is using the “Special Issue Ammunition” optional?
A: No. Whenever Captain Tycho fires the Boltgun half of “Blood Song”, he must always choose one of the options listed under “Special Issue
Ammunition” and cannot fire the normal Boltgun profile. [Rules Change]
• This is a [Rules Change] because as stated in BA.41.01, he cannot technically use the “Special Issue Ammunition” at all.

BA.41.03 – Q: Is “The Dead Man's Hand” a Special Close Combat Weapon?

A: No. It is a wargear item that changes how Tychos Close Combat attacks work. It is not a Close Combat Weapon and as such cannot be
combined with his Bolt Pistol to claim a bonus attack. [R.a.W]

BA.41.04 – Q: Is “Rites of Battle” optional? In other words, can Blood Angels units use their own leadership instead of Captain Tycho's?
A: No. [R.a.W]

BA.41.05 – Q: Does “Rites of Battle” apply to the Death Company version of Captain Tycho?
A: No. Each version has their own list of special rules which do not overlap. [R.a.W]
The Unofficial Codex: Blood Angels v1.9 by Gwar! Page 6

Captain Tycho (Cont.)

BA.41.06 – Q: Does Death Company Tycho count as a “Death Company model” for the purposes of rules that affect “Death Company
models”?
A: No. He is a “Death Company Tycho” model not a “Death Company” model. [R.a.W]

BA.41.07 – Q: Is Death Company Captain Tycho a single model unit without the Independent Character special rule or does he become
attached to a Death Company unit if selected?
A: Death Company Tycho is a single model unit without the Independent Character special rule. [R.a.W]

Chaplains
BA.42.01 – Q: Does the version of “Liturgies of Blood” used by a generic Chaplain allow attached Independent Characters to benefit?
A: Yes. [R.a.W]

BA.42.02 – Q: What exactly are “Models in a Death Company” with regards to a generic Chaplain's version of “Liturgies of Blood”?
A: This refers to all models within a Death Company unit, including Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost but not attached Independent Characters.
[Clarification/Rules Change]
• The rule is very, very unclear. It may refer to the above, or it may refer only to models with the name “Death Company” in it's profile or it may include Independent
Characters and may or may not include Death Company Tycho.

Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost

BA.43.01 – Q: Does the version of “Liturgies of Blood” used by Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost allow attached Independent Characters to
benefit?
A: No. [R.a.W]

BA.43.02 – Q: How long does “Fury Unbound” last?

A: It lasts until the game ends or Lemartes dies, whichever comes first. [R.a.W]

BA.43.03 – Q: If Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost is wounded before he gets to strike in any given close combat (for example, a model with
Initiative 10 wounds him), does he get to benefit from “Fury Unbound” when his Initiative step comes in that close combat?
A: Yes. He immediately gets the benefits of “Fury Unbound”. [R.a.W]

BA.43.04 – Q: Does Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost count as a “Death Company model” for the purposes of rules that affect “Death
Company models”?
A: No. He is a “Lemartes” model not a “Death Company” model. [R.a.W]

Death Company
BA.44.01 – Q: Can Death Company contest objectives?
A: Yes. [R.a.W]

Astorath the Grim

BA.45.01 – Q: How does the Strength bonus granted by “Furious Charge” interact with “The Executioner's Axe”?
A: It doesn't. Astorath the Grim always strikes at the Strength listed in the rules for “The Executioner's Axe”. This is because “The
Executioner's Axe” does not modify Astorath the Grim's Strength characteristic, it simply hits at a fixed Strength, meaning any modification to
Astorath the Grim's Strength characteristic does not affect it. [R.a.W]

BA.45.02 – Q: Does the version of “Liturgies of Blood” used by Astorath the Grim allow attached Independent Characters to benefit?
A: Yes. [R.a.W]

BA.45.03 – Q: What exactly are “Death Company models” with regards to the version of “Liturgies of Blood” used by Astorath the Grim?
A: Any model with the exact name “Death Company” in it's profile. This does not include Death Company Tycho as Death Company Tycho is a
“Death Company Tycho” model, not a “Death Company” model. [R.a.W]

Librarians
BA.46.01 – Q: If a Blood Angels Librarian uses a psychic power in the Blood Angels player turn, can he also use a psychic power in the
enemies player turn within the same game turn? Similarly, if an Epistolary use two psychic powers in the Blood Angels
player turn, can he also use two psychic powers in the enemies player turn within the same game turn?
A: Yes and Yes. “Turn” has a very specific meaning, as per page 9 of the Main Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. This means, for example, a
Librarian can use “Wings of Sanguinius” in the Blood Angels player turn and then use “Unleash Rage” in the enemies player turn immediately
after. [R.a.W]
The Unofficial Codex: Blood Angels v1.9 by Gwar! Page 7

Mephiston, Lord of Death

BA.47.01 – Q: In the Unit Entry page for Mephiston, Lord of Death, it says he has a psychic power called the “Sanguine Sword”. What
exactly is this power?
A: This should be “The Sanguine Sword”, located on page 63 of Codex: Blood Angels. [Rules Change/Typo]
• By the strict letter of the rules, “the ‘Sanguine Sword’” is not the same as “The Sanguine Sword” and thus does nothing as it has no rules in the codex.

BA.47.02 – Q: If Mephiston, Lord of Death uses three psychic powers in the Blood Angels player turn, can he also use three psychic powers
in the enemies player turn within the same game turn?
A: Yes. “Turn” has a very specific meaning, as per page 9 of the Main Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. This means, for example, Mephiston, Lord
of Death can use “Wings of Sanguinius”, “Unleash Rage” and “The Sanguine Sword” in the Blood Angels player turn and then use “Unleash
Rage”, “The Sanguine Sword” and his Force Weapon Power in the enemies Player turn immediately after. [R.a.W]

Sanguinary Priests
BA.48.01 – Q: When is the range checked to see if units are affected by the “Blood Chalice” in the Assault phase? Specifically, do units that
are within range before making assault moves but not within range after making assault moves still benefit?
A: Check the range at the beginning of each assault phase, before any assault moves are made. Units found to be within range of the Sanguinary
Priest at this time benefit from the effects of the “Blood Chalice” for the remainder of the phase, even if the “Blood Chalice” becomes out of
range at some point during the phase or if the Sanguinary Priest is slain. [Clarification/Rules Change]
• The rules as written are not sufficiently clear, hence the above [Clarification]. It can, as such, be argued that moving out of range, sustaining casualties that cause it to be
out of range or having the Priest be slain causes the unit to immediately lose the effect.

BA.48.02 – Q: Do units with only a single model within range of a “Blood Chalice” benefit from its effects?
A: Yes. [R.a.W]

BA.48.03 – Q: Do Dæmonhunters and Witch Hunters allies benefit from being in range of a “Blood Chalice”?
A: Yes. Despite the fluff description, the rule itself is clear. [R.a.W]

BA.48.04 – Q: How do vehicles benefit from being in range of a “Blood Chalice”?

A: Non-walker vehicles cannot benefit. Walkers benefit from the “Furious Charge” portion but not the “Feel No Pain” portion, as they do not
have wounds. [R.a.W]

Brother Corbulo
BA.49.01 – Q: How does the Strength bonus granted by “Furious Charge” interact with “Heaven's Teeth”?
A: It doesn't. Brother Corbulo always strikes at the Strength listed in the rules for “Heaven's Teeth”. This is because “Heaven's Teeth” does not
modify Brother Corbulo's Strength characteristic, it simply hits at a fixed Strength, meaning any modification to Brother Corbulo's Strength
characteristic does not affect it. [R.a.W]

BA.49.02 – Q: What is the “Rending special rule” that “Heaven's Teeth” refers to?
A: This is the “Rending” Weapon Type located on page 31 of the Main Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. [Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, the “Rending special rule” means and does absolutely nothing.

BA.49.03 – Q: When is the range checked to see if units are affected by “The Red Grail” in the Assault phase? Specifically, do units that are
within range before making assault moves but not within within range after making assault moves still benefit?
A: Check the range at the beginning of each assault phase, before any assault moves are made. Units found to be within range of Brother
Corbulo at this time benefit from the effects of the “The Red Grail” for the remainder of the phase, even if the “The Red Grail” becomes out of
range at some point during the phase or if Brother Corbulo is slain. [Clarification]
• The rules as written are not sufficiently clear, hence the above clarification. It can, as such, be argued that moving out of range,
sustaining casualties that cause it to be out of range or having Corbulo be slain causes the unit to immediately lose the effect.

BA.49.04 – Q: Do units with only a single model within range of “The Red Grail” benefit from its effects?
A: Yes. [R.a.W]

BA.49.05 – Q: Do Dæmonhunters and Witch Hunters allies benefit from being in range of a “The Red Grail”?
A: Yes. Despite the fluff description, the rule itself is clear. [R.a.W]

BA.49.06 – Q: How do vehicles benefit from being in range of “The Red Grail”
A: Non-walker vehicles cannot benefit. Walkers benefit from the “Furious Charge” portion but not the “Feel No Pain” portion, as they do not
have wounds. [R.a.W]

BA.49.07 – Q: Can “The Far-Seeing Eye” be used to re-roll the roll to determine who deploys first? What about the roll to see who moves
their scout units first?
A: “The Far-Seeing Eye” can be used to re-roll absolutely any single roll that you have made. This includes “non-game” rolls such as the roll to
see who deploys first, the roll to Seize the Initiative, a roll to see if a unit is affected by “The Red Thirst” and so on and so forth. The only
exception to this is the roll to continue the game at the end of Turn 5, which in Standard Missions is done by “a player”, which means the re-roll
cannot be used unless it is actually the Blood Angels Player rolling the dice. In missions from the “Battle Missions” book, it specifies which
player rolls this dice, and as such “The Far-Seeing Eye” may only be used to re-roll it if the Blood Angels Player is rolling it. [R.a.W]
The Unofficial Codex: Blood Angels v1.9 by Gwar! Page 8

Brother Corbulo (Cont.)

BA.49.08 – Q: How does “The Far-Seeing Eye” work with Blast Weapons rolls To Hit?
A: “The Far-Seeing Eye” causes the dice to be re-rolled, and so follows the rules for “Blast weapons and re-rolls” on page 30 of the Main
Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. [R.a.W]

BA.49.09 – Q: How does “The Far-Seeing Eye” work with the Scatter Dice roll when a unit uses the “Deep Strike” special rule?
A: “The Far-Seeing Eye” allows either the Scatter Die itself to be re-rolled (before rolling for the distance scattered) or the Dice rolled to see
how far the unit scatters. It cannot be used to re-roll both. This is because the distance scattered is rolled only if the scatter dies lands on an
“Arrow” and not if it lands on a “Hit”. Thus, by the time you roll the dice for the scatter distance, it is too late to re-roll the Scatter Dice itself.
[R.a.W]
• For example, a Blood Angels player deploys a unit by Deep Strike, and rolls an “Arrow” on the scatter dice. He must now decide if he wishes to use “The Far-Seeing
Eye” to re-roll this dice, before rolling the scatter distance.

BA.49.10 – Q: Can the “The Far-Seeing Eye” be used to re-roll a failed armour save or “Feel No Pain” roll that would cause Corbulo to be
slain should he fail it? For example, before having used “The Far-Seeing Eye”, Corbulo has one wound remaining and suffers
another wound, fails his save, and also fails his “Feel No Pain”roll. Can he use “The Far-Seeing Eye” to re-roll the “Feel No
Pain” roll?
A: Yes, he can. The re-roll granted by “The Far-Seeing Eye” is only lost if Corbulo is actually slain. He is not slain until all rolls have been
made and finalised, which means you can use “The Far-Seeing Eye” to re-roll the die before he is slain. [R.a.W]

Sanguinary Guard
BA.50.01 – Q: Are units of Sanguinary Guard able to Deep Strike (as the way Sanguinary Guard models are made it is impossible for a
Sanguinary Guard model to be placed in base to base contact with another Sanguinary Guard model)?
A: Yes, they may Deep Strike. When Placing them, but them as close to base contact as possible while forming concentric circles of models.
[Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, Sanguinary Guard may never Deep Strike, as they cannot be put into base to base contact with each other.

BA.50.02 – Q: Do units with the “Fearless” Universal Special Rule still test to see if they are affected by the “Death Mask”?
A: Yes. Despite the fluff description, “Fearless” units are still affected. [R.a.W]

The Sanguinor
BA.51.01 – Q: Does the wording of “Avenging Angel” mean that if The Sanguinor is embarked upon a transport vehicle at the start of the
game you do not declare the enemy HQ unit you wish to target until he disembarks?
A: Yes. [R.a.W]

BA.51.02 – Q: Does the wording of “Avenging Angel” mean that if The Sanguinor is placed in reserves you do not declare the enemy HQ
unit you wish to target until he arrives?
A: Yes. [R.a.W]

BA.51.03 – Q: How do you determine which Sergeant benefits from “The Sanguinor's Blessing”?
A: Use any method you wish, so long as it is random and both players agree to it. [Clarification]
• The rules as written do not explicitly cover this situation. The above ruling is thus inferred.

BA.51.04 – Q: When is the range for “Aura of Fervour” checked?

A: Check the range immediately before any attacks are rolled at each Initiative step. If the unit is within range at that point, they will benefit
from “Aura of Fervour”. [Clarification]
• The rules as written are not sufficiently clear, hence the above clarification. The reason the above is different to the “Blood Chalice” rulings is that they both have very
different effects, specifically the the fact that Blood Chalice alters initiative and it causes massive rules issues if models suddenly change initiative mid combat.

Honour Guard
BA.52.01 – Q: When is the range checked to see if units are affected by the “Blood Chalice” in the Assault phase? Specifically, do units that
are within range before making assault moves but not within range after making assault moves still benefit?
A: Check the range at the beginning of each assault phase, before any assault moves are made. Units found to be within range of the Sanguinary
Priest at this time benefit from the effects of the “Blood Chalice” for the remainder of the phase, even if the “Blood Chalice” becomes out of
range at some point during the phase or if the Sanguinary Priest is slain. [Clarification]
• The rules as written are not sufficiently clear, hence the above clarification. It can, as such, be argued that moving out of range, sustaining casualties that cause it to be
out of range or having the Sanguinary Priest be slain causes the unit to immediately lose the effect.

BA.52.02 – Q: Do units with only a single model within range of a “Blood Chalice”, “Chapter Banner” or “Company Standard” benefit from
the appropriate effect?
A: Yes to all three. [R.a.W]

BA.52.03 – Q: Do Dæmonhunters and Witch Hunters allies benefit from being in range of a “Blood Chalice”, “Chapter Banner” or
“Company Standard”?
A: Yes. Despite their fluff descriptions, the rules themselves are clear. [R.a.W]
The Unofficial Codex: Blood Angels v1.9 by Gwar! Page 9

Honour Guard (Cont.)

BA.52.04 – Q: How do vehicles benefit from being in range of a “Blood Chalice”?
A: Non-walker vehicles cannot benefit. Walkers benefit from the “Furious Charge” portion but not the “Feel No Pain” portion, as they do not
have wounds. [R.a.W]

BA.52.05 – Q: Are the re-rolls granted by a “Chapter Banner” or “Company Standard” optional?
A: No, they are mandatory. [R.a.W]

BA.52.06 – Q: How do vehicles benefit from being in range of a “Chapter Banner” or “Company Standard”?
A: They do not, as they “never take Morale checks” and “cannot go to ground, voluntarily or otherwise.” [R.a.W]

Commander Dante
BA.53.01 – Q: Is the effect on Independent Characters given by the “Death Mask of Sanguinius” optional?
A: No, it is mandatory. [R.a.W]

BA.53.02 – Q: What happens if the opposing army has no Independent Characters, with regards to the “Death Mask of Sanguinius”?
A: Simply ignore this portion of the rule, as it has no effect. [R.a.W]

BA.53.03 – Q: Does the effect on Independent Characters given by the “Death Mask of Sanguinius” affect “Unique” models (also called
“Special Characters”) who are also Independent Characters?
A: Yes. [R.a.W]

BA.53.04 – Q: Does “Tactical Precision” benefit a transport vehicle Commander Dante (and his unit, if he has joined one and they have Jump
Packs) are embarked upon?
A: No. [Clarification]
• It can, however, be interpreted that “Tactical Precision” does affect a transport vehicle Commander Dante (and his unit, if he has joined one and they have jump packs)
are embarked upon.

BA.53.05 – Q: Does “Tactical Precision” benefit Commander Dante (and his unit, if he has joined one and they have Jump Packs) when
disembarking from a Stormraven Gunship via the “Skies of Blood” special rule?
A: Yes. This is because “Tactical Precision” works whenever the unit “deploys by Deep Strike” and “Skies of Blood” allows the unit to “deploy
the squad as if it were deep striking”. [R.a.W]

Chapter Master Gabriel Seth

BA.55.01 – Q: How does the Strength bonus granted by “Furious Charge” interact with “Blood Reaver”?
A: It doesn't. Chapter Master Gabriel Seth always strikes at the Strength listed in the rules for “Blood Reaver”. This is because “Blood Reaver”
does not modify Chapter Master Gabriel Seth's Strength characteristic, it simply hits at a fixed Strength, meaning any modification to Chapter
Master Gabriel Seth's Strength characteristic does not affect it. [R.a.W]

BA.55.02 – Q: What is the “Rending special rule” that “Blood Reaver” refers to?
A: This is the “Rending” Weapon Type located on page 31 of the Main Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. [Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, the “Rending special rule” means and does absolutely nothing.

BA.55.03 – Q: How does “Whirlwind of Gore” interact with models without a Weapon Skill?
A: It works as written against models without a Weapon Skill. Just remember that it will be difficult, if not impossible, for Chapter Master
Gabriel Seth to get into base to base contact with more than one such model anyway, meaning he will only get a single hit. [R.a.W]

BA.55.04 – Q: Is it permitted to put Chapter Master Gabriel Seth on a larger base to maximise the number of models he can get into base
contact with for “Whirlwind of Gore” as he has no restriction placed on this (unlike, for example, Canis Wolfborn)?
A: No. Chapter Master Gabriel Seth must be placed on the base which he supplied with. You can put him on a larger base if you really want, but
your opponent may contest it, as per page 3 of the Main Warhammer 40,000 rulebook. [R.a.W]
The Unofficial Codex: Blood Angels v1.9 by Gwar! Page 10

WARGEAR
Vehicle Equipment
Demolisher Cannon
BA.60.01 – Q: Should the “Demolisher Cannon” be an Ordnance Blast weapon?
A: Yes, it should. Replace the “Ordnance 1” Weapon Type with “Ordnance 1, Large Blast”. [Rules Change/Typo]
• By the strict letter of the rules, “Ordnance 1” means exactly that, and a Blood Angels Demolisher Cannon is not Large Blast. This is identical to the mistake made in the
Space Marine codex which was latter corrected by an Errata. Good Job GW (again).

Frag Assault Launchers

BA.60.02 – Q: How do “Frag Assault Launchers” work?
A: Any unit assaulting into a close combat on the same turn as it disembarks from a “Land Raider Crusader” or a “Land Raider Redeemer”
counts as having frag grenades. [Rules Change/Typo]
• By the strict letter of the rules, there is no such action as "charging". The correct terminology is "assaulting". As written, the Frag Assault Launchers never activate.

BA.60.03 – Q: If a Land Raider Crusader or a Land Raider Redeemer is destroyed (by ramming an enemy vehicle, for example) and its
previously embarked passengers assault into combat the ensuing Assault phase do they still benefit from the Land Raider's
“Frag Assault Launchers”?
A: Yes. [R.a.W]

Magna-Grapple
BA.60.04 – Q: Can a “Magna-Grapple” be used to pull a model belonging to a vehicle squadron out of coherency?
A: Yes, it can. Remember that a unit that finds itself out of coherency for whatever reason must attempt to move back into coherency in the next
possible Movement phase. [R.a.W]

BA.60.05 – Q: Can cover saves or invulnerable saves be taken against the “Grapple” effect of the “Magna-Grapple”?
A: No. [R.a.W]

BA.60.06 – Q: If a “Magna-Grapple” hits a vehicle but fails to cause a roll on the Vehicle Damage Table, does the “Grapple” special rule still
take effect?
A: Yes. The “Grapple” effect takes place whenever a “Magna-Grapple” “hits a vehicle and it is not destroyed.” Obviously, if no roll on the
Vehicle Damage Table was made, the vehicle has not been destroyed, so the “Grapple” rule takes effect. [R.a.W]

BA.60.07 – Q: If a “Magna-Grapple” successfully moves a “Damaged – Immobilised” or “Crew – Stunned” enemy vehicle via the “Grapple”
special rule, can the vehicle now move in it's next movement phase?
A: No. While “Grapple” states that the vehicle is “able to move normally”, both “Damaged – Immobilised” and “Crew – Stunned” state that
the vehicle cannot move. Since moving would break one of the two rules applicable, while not moving does not break any rules, the vehicle
cannot move. [R.a.W]

Armour
BA.61.01 – Q: Can models equipped with “Terminator Armour” but not actually “Terminators” make a Sweeping Advance?
A: No. Models equipped with Terminator Armour may never Sweeping Advance under any circumstances. [Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, only “Terminator” models cannot Sweeping Advance. Terminator Sergeants and other models with Terminator Armour can technically
Sweeping Advance.

Equipment
BA.62.01 – Q: When exactly does a player booby-trap terrain with “Cluster Mines”?
A: After terrain is settled upon. In the case of the rulebook missions that means before the roll to select a mission is made.[R.a.W]

BA.62.02 – Q: If a unit starts the game in a booby-trapped piece of terrain, what happens?
A: The booby-trap will be triggered the first time the unit moves. [R.a.W]

BA.62.03 – Q: If a Deep Striking transport vehicle lands in a booby-trapped piece of terrain, what happens?
A: The booby-trap is triggered against the transport vehicle before the unit inside disembarks. [R.a.W]

BA.62.04 – Q: Can a “Locator Beacon” be utilized by the opponent's Deep Striking units?
A: No, as per the Games Workshop Main Rulebook FAQ. [Clarification]
• By the strict letter of the rules, enemy units are free to use the Locator Beacon.

BA.62.05 – Q: What exactly is a “Terminator” with regard to the Teleport Homer?

A: Terminator Squads, Assault Terminator Squads and any attached Independent Characters with Terminator Armour may utilise the Teleport
Homer when arriving from reserves via the “Deep Strike” Special Rule. [Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, only models named “Terminator” can use them. Terminator Sergeants cannot use them, making them utterly useless for non combat
squad Terminators.
The Unofficial Codex: Blood Angels v1.9 by Gwar! Page 11

Psychic Powers
BA.63.01 – Q: Does “Shield of Sanguinius” benefit vehicles?
A: No. The vehicle does gain a cover save, but because it is not also obscured, this cover save may only be used against wounds, which a
vehicle doesn't have, so this save can never be used. [R.a.W]

BA.63.02 – Q: Does “The Blood Lance” have to roll to hit?

A: No. [R.a.W]

BA.63.03 – Q: How thick is the line created by “The Blood Lance”?

A: By definition, a line has no thickness, or any other dimension apart from length. However, as a one-dimensional line is impossible to
represent in three-dimensional space, the closest approximation is a length of string or the edge of a tape measure. [R.a.W]

BA.63.04 – Q: Does “The Blood Lance” require the Blood Angels player to declare a unit as the target (as it is a psychic shooting attack) and
if so does this unit have to be affected by the power?
A: Yes, they must declare a “target”, and so must have at least one enemy unit in Line of Sight, but it has no effect on the power which allows
the line to be drawn in any direction and does not have to be drawn through the target unit. [R.a.W]

BA.63.05 – Q: Does “The Blood Lance” require Line of Sight and if so can it affect models outside Line of Sight?
A: A Librarian needs Line of Sight to at least one enemy model, even if it is clearly beyond the range rolled (as it is a shooting attack and thus
needs a “target”). However, the line may be drawn in any way the Blood Angels player wishes, and can affect models outside of Line of Sight,
and does not have to affect the unit chosen as the “target”. [R.a.W]

BA.63.06 – Q: Can “The Blood Lance” affect units embarked on transport vehicles?
A: No. [R.a.W]

BA.63.07 – Q: How does “Wings of Sanguinius” work if the model using it is a Walker?
A: Instead of moving as Infantry (as a Walker normally does), it instead moves as Jump Infantry, and follows all the movement rules of Jump
Infantry (such as taking a dangerous terrain test when moving into difficult terrain and so on). [Clarification]
• It is unclear how a walker becoming Jump Infantry should work, hence the above [Clarification]. It can, however, be argued that since the walker is not actually Infantry,
it cannot now become Jump Infantry.

BA.63.08 – Q: Can a Furioso Librarian who has suffered a “Damaged – Immobilised” or a “Crew – Stunned” result on the Vehicle Damage
Table and then successfully uses “Wings of Sanguinius” now move?
A: No. While “Wings of Sanguinius” states that the model moves as if it had a Jump Pack, “Damaged - Immobilised” and “Crew – Stunned”
both state that the vehicle cannot move. Since moving would break one of the two rules applicable, while not moving does not break any rules,
the Librarian cannot move. [R.a.W]

BLOOD ANGELS ARMY LIST

General Queries
BA.GQ.02 – Q: Several models Wargear lists state they are armed with a “Boltgun or Bolt Pistol” but their options say they may “Replace
Boltgun and/or Bolt Pistol”, suggesting they can have both. Which one is correct?
A: The Wargear list is correct. They are armed with one or the other. They are never armed with both. [Clarification]
• As stated above, it can be suggested that they have both a Boltgun and a Bolt Pistol as their options say they can “Replace Boltgun and/or Bolt Pistol” which can imply
that they have a “Boltgun and Bolt Pistol” to replace. More than likely this is a typographical error that was not picked up in proofreading.

BA.GQ.03 – Q: Several models have the option of replacing, among other items, their Boltgun with Terminator Armour. If they take a Bolt
Pistol instead of a Bolter, does this mean they are unable to purchase Terminator Armour?
A: Correct, they will be unable to purchase Terminator Armour. [R.a.W]

BA.GQ.04 – Q: Several Army List entries make reference to models being armed with “Power Swords”. What exactly are these?
A: Replace all instances of “Power Sword” with “Power Weapon”. [Rules Change/Typo]
• By the strict letter of the rules, a “Power Sword” has no rules at all and does nothing.

Mephiston, Lord of Death

BA.82.01 – Q: Both Mephiston's Army List Entry and his Unit Entry state he has a “Force Sword”. What exactly is a “Force Sword”?
A: This is a normal “Force Weapon” as detailed in the Main Warhammer 40,000 rulebook,. [Rules Change/Typo]
• By the strict letter of the rules, a “Force Sword” has no rules at all and does nothing.

Reclusiarch
BA.83.02 – Q: “Honour the Chapter” and “Liturgies of Blood” both refer to “a Chaplain”. How do these rules work for a Reclusiarch?
A: Treat the Reclusiarch as a Chaplain for the purposes of “Honour the Chapter” and “Liturgies of Blood”. [Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, neither of these rules work for Reclusiarchs.

Honour Guard
BA.84.01 – Q: Do Honour Guard form a Retinue?
A: No. [R.a.W]

BA.84.02 – Q: Do Blood Angels HQ choices who are not Independent Characters allow a unit of Honour Guard to be selected?
A: Yes. They will not, however, be able to join them, as they obviously are not Independent Characters. [R.a.W]

Furioso Dreadnought
BA.85.01 – Q: Can a Furioso Librarian purchase weapons and wargear from the options list?
A: Yes. These may be Purchased “after” the Upgrade to a Furioso Librarian. The only option unavailable is the Blood Talon option, as you no
longer have the wargear to exchange for them. [Clarification]
• It can, however, be interpreted that you lose any purchased wargear and may not purchase them at all.

Sanguinary Priests
BA.87.01 – Q: Is it permitted to take more than one Sanguinary Priests selection in an army?
A: More than one are permitted to be taken. In other words, you can have up to nine in a standard FoC chart. [Clarification]
• It can also be argued that you can only include three models in total as a single Elites choice.

BA.87.02 – Q: If more than one Sanguinary Priest is taken as a single Force Organisation Chart selection, do they have to deploy together or
can they be deployed separately?
A: They can deploy separately, as they are three units of one model, not one unit of three models. [R.a.W]

BA.87.03 – Q: What is up with the Terminator Armour Option? What is a “Chalice of Blood”? What is a “Power Sword”?
A: This line should be changed to: “Replace all wargear with Terminator Armour, a Blood Chalice and a Power Weapon”. [Rules Change/Typo]
• Seriously, this is one of the most poorly written lines ever printed in a GW Codex. Not only is it horrible grammatically and aesthetically terrible, it also makes the
Sanguinary Priest a big bag of Fail (with a capital F), as there is no such thing as a “Chalice of Blood” nor is there such a thing as a “Power Sword”.

Brother Corbulo
BA.87.02 – Q: Is Brother Corbulo's points cost instead of those for a Sanguinary Priest or in addition to?
A: It is instead of. [R.a.W]
The Unofficial Codex: Blood Angels v1.9 by Gwar! Page 13

Tactical Squad
BA.88.01 – Q: Can a Tactical Squad purchase any Dedicated Transport (those found on page 90 and 91) or can they only purchase a
Dedicated Transport listed on page 90?
A: They may purchase any Dedicated Transport found in the Dedicated Transport section of the Army List. [R.a.W]

Death Company
BA.88.01 – Q: Can a unit of Death Company be a mixture of models armed with Boltguns or Bolt Pistols or must the squad consist of all
Boltguns or all Bolt Pistols?
A: The unit can be a mixture of Boltgun equipped models and Bolt Pistol equipped models. [Clarification]
• The rules as written do not clearly specify either way, hence the above [Clarification].

BA.88.02 – Q: Does taking Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost replace a member of the Death Company unit or is he taken in addition to the
Death Company unit?
A: He is taken in addition to the Death Company. He does not replace a normal Death Company model. [R.a.W]

BA.88.03 – Q: Does a Death Company unit that includes Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost have to buy Jump Packs?
A: No. However, remember that you are limited to the speed of the slowest model in a unit in all circumstances. [R.a.W]

BA.88.04 – Q: In the Army List Entry for Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost, it states that he has “The Black Rage” special rule but not the
“Black Rage” special rule listed in his Unit Entry and visa versa. Which one is correct?
A: Replace “The Black Rage” with just “Black Rage” in his Army List Entry. [Rules Change/Typo]
• By the strict letter of the rules “The Black Rage” does nothing which means Lemartes, Guardian of the Lost is not subject to the “Black Rage” Special Rule that the
Death Company unit is subject to.

Death Company Dreadnought

BA.89.01 – Q: What exactly count as “Death Company models” when determining how many Death Company Dreadnoughts a Blood Angels
army can contain?
A: Any model with the exact name “Death Company” in it's profile. This does not include Death Company Tycho as Death Company Tycho is a
“Death Company Tycho” model, not a “Death Company” model. [R.a.W]

Assault Squad
BA.89.02 – Q: Do Assault Squads lose the “Descent of Angels” special rule if they choose to remove their Jump Packs?
A: No, they do not. Just keep in mind that as they now are no longer Deep Striking, this rule will not usually have any real effect outside of
specialised scenarios such as Planetstrike. [R.a.W]

BA.89.03 – Q: Can an Assault Squad purchase any Dedicated Transport (those found on page 90 and 91) or can they only purchase a
Dedicated Transport listed on page 90?
A: They may purchase any Dedicated Transport found in the Dedicated Transport section of the Army List. [R.a.W]

BA.89.04 – Q: The options for an Assault Squad Sergeant state he can “replace his Bolt Pistol/Chainsword” as opposed to “replace his Bolt
Pistol and/or Chainsword”. Does this mean he can only replace one of his weapons and cannot replace both of them?
A: No. He is still able to exchange each of his standard weapons for a new one. What he cannot do is exchange both of his standard weapons for
a single new weapon, as is permitted with some other units in the Codex. [R.a.W]

Dedicated Transports
BA.90.01 – Q: Why do some Blood Angels transports have reduced transport capacity compared to the same transports found in Codex:
Space Marines?
A: The Blood Angels use the extra space to store their Glitter Make-up and Eye-liner! Some Blood Angel Transports do in fact have a lower
transport capacity, because Games Workshop say so. [R.a.W]

Stormraven Gunship
BA.94.01 – Q: A Stormraven Gunship states that it's “twin-linked assault cannon” (singular) can be replaced by “twin-linked lascannons”
(plural). When compared to, for example, the Predator's option, which states a “twin-linked lascannon” (singular), this
suggests that the Stormraven Gunship can have multiple lascannons. How many lascannons does the Stormraven Gunship get
when exchanging it's assault cannon?
A: It replaces the “twin-linked assault cannon” with a single “twin-linked lascannon”. [Rules Change/Typo]
• By the strict letter of the rules, since it does not specify how many you get, you get zero twin linked lascannons, as you cannot have one “lascannons”.

Predator
BA.94.02 – Q: Blood Angels Predators have the option to take “a Storm Bolter and/or a Hunter Killer Missile” for +x points. Does this mean
you can get “a Storm Bolter and a Hunter Killer Missile” for only x points or must you purchase each one separately?
A: Each upgrade is paid for separately. So a Storm Bolter is +x points, a Hunter Killer Missile is +x points and to take both means you must pay
+x points twice. [Rules Change]
• By the strict letter of the rules, a Blood Angels Predator can purchase both for only +x points.

Summary
BA.96.01 – Q: Should the “Demolisher Cannon” be an Ordnance Blast weapon?
A: Yes, it should. Replace the Demolisher Cannon's “Ordnance 1” Weapon Type with “Ordnance 1, Large Blast”. [Rules Change/Typo]
• By the strict letter of the rules, “Ordnance 1” means exactly that, and a Blood Angels Demolisher Cannon is not Large Blast. This is
identical to the mistake made in the Space Marine codex which was latter corrected by an Errata. Good Job GW (again).
